Want- Huntsman

Will- Romney

Perry needs to showcase he can handle a big debate, and I don't see him winning a debate against Obama if he can't take on the likes of Romney and Crazy MN lady.

Want Palin. I'm gonna get Palin.

It's not about what I want, it's about what the nation needs -- Perry 2012 :usa

Want - Newt...easily the most sane candidate out there.

Will - Romney. Perry will be his biggest challenger but I think the craziness will scare people off. Plus Romney has a gigantic stockpile of money.

I wanted Mitch Daniels. Too bad he stayed home.

Plus Romney has a gigantic stockpile of money.

There was an odd effect with Mittens's fundraising in 2008 that might well be repeating itself now...he scored a big early fundraising lead in 2008 from a handful of friendly business donors and Mormons maxing out their contribution to him at the start of the race, but he was never able to grow beyond that. So he started with a big fundraising lead but that quickly evaporated because he couldn't expand his donor base.

Time will tell if that gigantic stockpile of money is more than a temporary blip.

I see a couple votes for Santorum and Cain (one each). I haven't seen them discussed much here... for those who support them, what are your thoughts there? Why either of those two?

And someone voted that Huntsman wins the nomination - it wasn't me. I wonder who thinks that.

Last time around, Romney wasn't the only candidate who didn't look and sound legitimately crazy.

Really, McCain, 9iu11ani, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee came off as at the Bachmann/Perry level? I don't buy that.

No, that's what I'm saying, they weren't calling Social Security a ponzi scheme, calling basic Fed actions treasonous, thinking that defaulting on the debt is a good idea, etc.

I'd expect saner Wall Street-type money to flow more readily to Romney this time around as I can't see self-interested wealthy bankers/financiers really jumping behind a Perry or Bachmann

I agree on Romney, he will likely take the nomination. I also agree that 2008 had a lot more reasonable, Presidential-looking and acting candidates in both partiesm than we are seeing from this sorry sack of candidates from the GOP for 2012.

It's pretty disturbing just how far to the right the GOP candidate group has shifted from the race only 3 years ago.

Perry will have a nice edge in fundraising and the best run campaign. The rest is gravy.

All the Reps do, it's their rock, their cornerstone.

maybe this poll wasn't for me, it'll be Obama for me, but I did vote Huntsman/Perry.

I like John Huntsman, and he's the only one in a general election that I think could beat the President. But I think Perry locks it up with a southern/western state strategy.

I think you're in for a big surprise next November.

Anyone of them could be Obama.

Correct. They are all black socialist Muslims.

I want Santorum, just for when a teacher assigns a project to a kid and has them look up Santorum.

Yuck.

Moronic tactics like that don't increase my respect for the gay community. Really, slandering someone simply because you dislike their opinions? Weak. If Dan Savage wants to increase tolerance for the homosexual community, he should try tactics beyond acting like a petulant child. But considering he is a person who wished all Republicans dead, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm a man. Making a mean-spirited nickname for me because you hate the way I think isn't going to change me and it damn sure isn't going to win my sympathies. Anyone who thinks Dan Savage advanced gay rights in doing what he did needs a serious maturity check.

a drunk democrat

Also, I love how liberals just adore Huntsman. As if that's a credential that's going to help him win the GOP nomination. HA!

they aren't that far right. most of them are just boring and clueless.
