October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) It'd be nice if one of these vanity businesses worked out for Frank. This one doesn't seem like a winner. How about a hitting video course? Like Tom Emanski...
October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) It'd be nice if one of these vanity businesses worked out for Frank. This one doesn't seem like a winner. Chances are, unlike his music business ventures, Frank has zero to very little money invested in this. He's probably getting paid to use his name and make some appearances. I doubt if Big Hurt Beer is a bust it will at least hurt him financially. It would probably cost him money, but not that he already has.
October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) Hawk Harrelson should get 50%. He'll get nothing and like it.
October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) He'll get nothing and like it. Are you kidding? He ought to have an endorsement contract. Just deliver about a 24 pack to the booth every game.
October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) Are you kidding? He ought to have an endorsement contract. Just deliver about a 24 pack to the booth every game. He'll definitely need them next season..
October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) Are you kidding? He ought to have an endorsement contract. Just deliver about a 24 pack to the booth every game. He'll be announcing like Harry Caray in no time!
October 16, 201114 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) He'll be announcing like Harry Caray in no time! He's already got the hack part down, he just needs the drunk part.
October 17, 201114 yr QUOTE (coco1997 @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 03:37 PM) Met Frank and got a picture with him as well as an autographed can, which he signed 'FRANK THOMAS #35, 93 94 AL MVP". In case he needed to remind me. He needs to add 2000 to that MVP list.
October 17, 201114 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 07:57 AM) Chances are, unlike his music business ventures, Frank has zero to very little money invested in this. He's probably getting paid to use his name and make some appearances. I doubt if Big Hurt Beer is a bust it will at least hurt him financially. It would probably cost him money, but not that he already has. Which would make sense, because the dude is supposed to be broke anyway.
October 17, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) He needs to add 2000 to that MVP list. Forget the steroids, he deserved it anyway.
October 17, 201114 yr I picked up 4 of these at Binny's on my lunch break. I'll have a review tomorrow, and test it during my Madden Online Franchise game tonight.
October 18, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) I picked up 4 of these at Binny's on my lunch break. I'll have a review tomorrow, and test it during my Madden Online Franchise game tonight. I also picked up 4 of them today. October 18, 201114 yr QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) I've had worse things in my life. That's all I can say. Doesn't taste great but I'm pretty drunk off two of them.
October 18, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 11:23 PM) Doesn't taste great but I'm pretty drunk off two of them.
October 18, 201114 yr QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 02:19 AM) They are 24 oz at 7 percent. Chugging 2 in an hour is akin to chugging 7 normal beers in an hour.
October 20, 201114 yr QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) I got pretty drunk off two as well. That was a plus. GUILTY!
October 21, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 05:18 AM) They are 24 oz at 7 percent. Chugging 2 in an hour is akin to chugging 7 normal beers in an hour. Really? So that's 4 normal cans. I guess I consider normal beer like 5-5.5% or so (either Miller/Bud, or wheat beers), so that math roughly works out.
October 21, 201114 yr QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 02:38 AM) Really? So that's 4 normal cans. I guess I consider normal beer like 5-5.5% or so (either Miller/Bud, or wheat beers), so that math roughly works out. Normal beer is 3.2%. That is your taps of regular or lite Miller's and Bud's. Something like Icehouse is 5.5%.
October 21, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 07:52 AM) Are we sure that the 7% in Frank's "beer" is not "7 proof"? http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-07...ll-frank-thomas What goes better with baseball than beer? Not much, according to White Sox legend Frank Thomas. The Big Hurt's new product — a namesake lager — is expected to arrive in Chicago-area bars and liquor stores in August. And at 7 percent alcohol, Big Hurt Beer — like its bat-wielding inspiration — also promises to be a hard-hitting presence in the city.
October 21, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 07:42 AM) Normal beer is 3.2%. That is your taps of regular or lite Miller's and Bud's. Something like Icehouse is 5.5%. Budweiser is 5.0% ABV and High Life is just slightly lower.
