One of the thirds is apparently a 2013 3rd rounder, so the Bears still have 1 of their 2 third rounders this year as well.

Still can't believe it's that cheap, just a fantastic move.

Greg Olsen trade doesn't look so bad now, does it?

Eh, it is still a position of need, but this sure makes it sting less than it did yesterday

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG GO SIGN MARIO WILLIAMS OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

So I guess Peyton told them "No."

Yeah right. I doubt they even think about trading him before the Manning thing plays out.

I just was saying that to one of my co-workers.

Supposedly Marshall's cap hit is somewhere in the neighborhood of $11 million, and that could have been a serious issue while trying to sign Manning and any of his previous WR's.

Mario Williams will visit with Buffalo first. Tonight.

Buffalo?!

Buffalo?!

They have a ton of cap room and they're legitimately desperate for a pass rush.

They haven't had a pass rusher since Bruce Smtih.

Bah.

Good trade for both the Bears and Phins.

Bears finally get a WR threat for Cutler.

Dolphins clear space for Manning and Wayne. And if Miami doesnt get Manning/Wayne then there is no reason to have Marshall around. Kinda like a last place team with a stud closer. Just get rid of him and get something in return because you arent going to be competing for a playoff spot.

really hard to believe that Marshall's trade value was 2 third round picks if it weren't for the teams trying to clear Manningcap.

Love the Marshall move. He's bat s*** crazy but he's a hell of a player.

Seriously what a huge move to start the offseason, this is going to fire up Bear nation.

It's LeBronathon all over again.

I really love the duo of Marshall/Bennett in theory. I'd still use a 1st or 2nd to take a WR.

I think more likely than Mario Williams the Bears go after a safety and olb or a lesser de.

Clearly they still need another body at that spot, but now they can hesitate to see where other pieces fall. If they happen to miss out on Williams, then they can use some of their remaining cap to go after someone like Meachem or Manningham.

I think it would be better if it was Marshall/Meachem/Bennett.

The NFC is going to be stacked next year, going to be fantastic playoff matchups.

Obviously.

The Bears could blow up the NFL by signing Mario. Make it happen.

@michaelombardi

Sounds like the Bears wont get Mario Williams, the deal is getting too rich and appears the Bills are in the lead--with the most money.

This is hitting me like it hit me when we traded for Cutler.

Back then it was, "The Bears have a legitimate starting QB".

Now it's, "The Bears have a real #1 WR."

Bears looking at Jason Campbell for backup QB. That would work for me.

Sources in Houston confirm Bears are not in the running for Mario Williams. Oh well... It was probably never realistic anyway.
