Kony 2012

I think we can all agree this man needs to be stopped.

I sure as hell am doing my part on April 20th.

Yeah I've been seeing this ALL OVER Social Media for the last few hours.

Hopefully some good can come out of it, but they're certainly getting the message out.

Sounds like a great program, hopefully it does some good.

We got trouble.

The group is in favour of direct military intervention, and their money supports the Ugandan government’s army and various other military forces. Here’s a photo of the founders of Invisible Children posing with weapons and personnel of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army. Both the Ugandan army and Sudan People’s Liberation Army are riddled with accusations of rape and looting, but Invisible Children defends them, arguing that the Ugandan army is “better equipped than that of any of the other affected countries”, although Kony is no longer active in Uganda and hasn’t been since 2006 by their own admission. These books each refer to the rape and sexual assault that are perennial issues with the UPDF, the military group Invisible Children is defending.

Son of a b****.

Though, spending money on the films isn't that bad. It's how they got the word out about him and made him a household name.

Supporting an army that has soldiers accused of rape and looting...that's a whole other issue.

I'd like the movement to support one of two things:

A. USA sanctioned Marines to hunt and kill Kony

B. Use the funds to hire the private militaty organizations that the US hires out themselves, to go and hunt and kill Kony.

I don't trust building a Ugandan army because A. Kony has seemingly moved out of Uganda and B. The region is too fragile for a powerful army and therefore susceptible to another Warlord takeover, but this time with an even more powerful army.

How long before we get a report that Seal Team Six got him?

By the way, the charity that made this film spends nearly 80% of the money they make on costs other than directly aiding the clients they claim to directly aid.

Sums it up for me.

While it sucks what's happening over there, just like with Saddam, it's none of our f***ing business. Let someone else get involved for a change.

That poor hippie girl gets used in all the right wing memes.

director = drug user = public displays of stupidity
