Gordo K's to end the 5th. Sox now lead 1-0

Jake Peavy...the Reconstructed Resurrected Jake Peavy...pitching like an ace. AJ and Peavy are working great together.

He's gotten a few pitches up to 94, but the majority of his pitches are 90-92/93 today.

7 K's for Gordon already, trails Morel and Dunn by one.

UGH.

I am off the Beckham bandwagon, If he is non tendered so be it..............another GREAT KW pick!

And you said Scherzer couldn't cut it.

Can we see some more Lillibridge? Please.

Pretty funny, the ONLY highlight at MLB.com for the first 5 innings was Cabrera and the umpires changing the batting box and the Konerko/Peavy play at first.

Through 5 innings, 47% (16 of 34) batters have struck out.

6-7-8 hitters have been our beasts today. And Alexei and Alex haven't struck out today.

I don't mind giving Gordon a chance but I'm with you, lets see more Lilli if he continues to show no improvement.

2nd pitch ground out to start it, and now an argument over a nubber fair or foul in front of homeplate. AJ starts to argue, Robin comes out to discuss.

i think KW is gonna make him play Becks all year.

Raburn was out of the batters box and ran into the ball.

Viciedo makes the play in LF, two down.

Raburn just missed the hanging slider right down the middle.

Well, he was already out when he walked into the ball coming out of the batter's box, so karma.

Going to be a really tough call for Ventura how long to stick with Jake, with the chance to go to Thornton against Boesch and Fielder next inning.

Peavy at 76 pitches, 48 strikes.

This exact area of pitches thrown was his trouble zone last year.

Aj hangs on to the foul tip for Jake's 8th. Tigers still scoreless through 6.

This is a very weird game so far. Love Tank, though, and the movement on Jake's fastball

The last three innings for Peavy against the very capable Rangers team, coupled with the first six today against an equally capable Tigers squad, is cause for some nice optimism for the Jake-meister this season. Very encouraging, indeed!

ya know what Balta - one could argue that Jake is facing a much, much tougher lineup than Scherzer is... so... :P

If Peavy gets through their middle of the order one more time, I'm a believer

AJ doing good at hanging on. What is that? His third hang-on?

Anyways, Jake....pitching great....offense....let us get it going and give Jake some more runs.

Yep, the last three have all been foul tips.

De Aza gets a leadoff, full count walk.

Good at-bat for Alejandro right there.
