Peavy's slider is fooling no one. Lots of excuses being made for Hudson, who played that off to the side instead of getting his body in front of it.

Was thinking the same thing.

Damnit Alexei.

Wow, just wow...no reason to do the glove flip when you're not going to be able to turn two. Sox are a Toronto bomb away from this getting out of hand.

Toronto just own the Sox.

Sox coulda used an early all star break after that long win streak.

Team looks dead and Jake has nothing tonight.

What in the world guys?

This series is like x-ing out what they did Tampa Bay. Sucks.

His stuff has definitely flattened out for a while now. Going to a 6 man rotation, if the rumors are true, would help him out more than anyone. If anything, he was almost too good to start the year, and might have forced Ventura's hand to let him throw more pitches than what he could handle.

Game is not over.

That could have been a lot worse. I had visions of a Buatista bomb and ballgame virtually over.

Definitely feels like a game where winner is the team that hits a 3 run homer, as both pitchers are going to give up a lot of base runners.

Play like crap at home all year and KW has the balls to cry about fanbase.

could have escaped with no runs had Hudson fielded that ball and turned the DP

Or against the Indians.

Well, only a two run deficit.

There was some weird statistic where only 6 pitchers in MLB history have finished the season with a K per 9 innings pitched ratio of 3 or lower.

Henderson Alvarez would be one of them if he continues at this pace. Two others, former Tigers Bill Gullickson and Nate Cornejo (2003).

Hudson's too poor defensively to hold 3B, and his offense hasn't come close to counterbalancing it.

Well, whatever happens, we're still in first and the Indians have to play at STL and at CINCY.

How could they not give Hudson an error on that?

Outside If he gets that call Sox are in trouble.

That would have been his 4th or 5th error already, right?

Not to mention a number of misplays or plays just not made that could have been...like the game we lost to the M's when we were up 7-5.

I've been super patient waiting on Alexei this year...but get it going man. This is ignorant at this stage of the season.

Play was not half as hard as Hawk and Stoney made it seem.....................Sox go 1-2-3 no answer to the 3 runs.

There goes 31 points off Viciedo's batting average. Well, we knew it was coming. FIRST PLACE, FIRST PLACE, FIRST PLACE, repeat no matter what happens in this game.

He might want to stop faking the bunt on fastballs down the plate, as he just ends up getting himself in a hole. Last night was a terrible approach by him, as he kept taking fastballs and then chasing the unhittable slider. I'd be all for him getting a day off and putting Escobar at SS.

Peavy needs an efficient inning here.

Big inning for Peavy there...60 pitches after 3
