Anyone going? I'm taking my 14 month old to her first Sox game.

Is that too young to take on the field to run the bases?

My neice went to her first game at 6 months old. :headbang

And that might be a bit too young. They should let you with her if they do allow it. I have no idea if there is an age requirement.

I am thinking about taking my two year old but the bases....no way he will stand there and clog up the line and then take off toward rightfield. Security will probably flog him there and he will spend the next 30 days in Whitesox timeout, watching the cubs.

Hey, what a coincidence. Sunday will be my first trip up there to a game this year, and we are bringing my 16 month old.

So, Sunday is the day the kids can go on the field? No kidding! I hadn't even known and we had just picked that day because it fit our schedule best. You better darn well believe I will get my daughter out there to run around! This is waaay cool!!!

Ahhh, they will probably just give him 30 days probation... Like Loogie.

The one guy that ran on the field and didn't touch anyone, got 30 days in prison. He was out there this season in the game before the ump was attacked it wasn't Dybas but one of the Polish dudes they had in the paper. I get the feeling Dybas is going to get some serious time.

Okay - regarding Kid's Day - it is not as advertised so be forewarned.

I took my son when he was two and a half, he could run the bases, but not without someone running with him. So naturally, I held him in line an we waited for our turn. As we were in line, we heard that only children over four could run the bases alone, and that those under four could be accompanied by a grandparent. I thought that was odd, I was his father, I wasn't sure why I was not as qualified as a grandparent to take him on the field. But sure enough when we got down to field level, I was stopped and prevented from going out.

So with my son becoming more upset, I confronted the 17 yr old security person, and informed her that 1) I was not look to suit up and take the field, simply provide my son a brief moment of joy and 2) that if my son was not allowed to run the bases than she would have to explain to him why he could not go, and deal with the tantrum that would surely follow.

Needless to say, we were on the base paths 15 seconds later.

Huh. That's odd.
