May 30, 201312 yr David O'Brien @ajcbraves 3B Juan Francisco designated for assignment by #Braves to open roster spot for Alex Wood. Bring him in & drop Greene or Wells.
May 30, 201312 yr Author QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) Before acquiring Gillaspie, I would have said absolutely. Yea good point. Gillaspie has been pretty money & a great find so far, but adding another lefty to the bench & cutting either Greene or Wells loose is something that def couldn't hurt.
May 30, 201312 yr A young lefty 3b is the one thing the Sox do have. I don't see a point in going after Francisco.
May 31, 201312 yr Author QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 30, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) A young lefty 3b is the one thing the Sox do have. I don't see a point in going after Francisco. Piling up assets is NEVER a bad thing. Like Jake said though....doubt he makes it to us.
May 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (mataipaepae @ May 31, 2013 -> 12:13 AM) I'd take him as our DH over dunn Right now I might take me as our DH over Dunn for free.

I agree but I think that gillaspie would be more valuable as a utility infielder. fransisco brings the power and pop we lack with gillaspie at 3rd. I don't think we should shy away because of gillaspie.

I don't think we should shy away because of gillaspie. has Gillaspie ever played any position other than 3rd? and If Francisco is a solid upgrade from him, why would we expect he'd get through waivers?
May 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2013 -> 08:06 AM) has Gillaspie ever played any position other than 3rd? and If Francisco is a solid upgrade from him, why would we expect he'd get through waivers? 31 games at 1b, 2 games in LF, and 500 games at 3b throughout his professional baseball career.
May 31, 201312 yr How come if White Sox put up these kind of numbers, the team needs to move on from them as soon as possible, but if he's with another team, he's potentially a great player?
May 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 31, 2013 -> 08:24 AM) How come if White Sox put up these kind of numbers, the team needs to move on from them as soon as possible, but if he's with another team, he's potentially a great player? People always think the grass is greener.

May 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 31, 2013 -> 08:35 AM) SOXTALK MEATHEAD What twisted logic are you using here? Look at Juan Francisco's numbers real quick and tell me why you want him on this team.
May 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 31, 2013 -> 09:07 AM) I'll call it now. I don't think Francisco gets past the Cubs. But they have elite Luis Valbuena
May 31, 201312 yr Brent Morel has hit .333 his last 10 games that I believe is the best we are going to get.
May 31, 201312 yr QUOTE (sammy esposito @ May 31, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) Brent Morel has hit .333 his last 10 games that I believe is the best we are going to get. Filling our roster out this year has become like streaming hot streaks in fantasy baseball. How low we've fallen.
June 3, 201312 yr Bernie Pleskoff @BerniePleskoff 1h #Brewers have acquired 3B Juan Francisco from the #Braves for Minor League pitcher Thomas Keeling.
