June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:46 AM) I predict that you didn't notice the thread in PHT when you started this one. Hm. Guess I read the forums in the wrong order today! I think we'll consolidate. Need to talk to the guys.

June 6, 201312 yr Callis' final mock has the Sox at Alex Gonzalez. I think that if he's available, he'll absolutely be the Sox pick. Personally, I'd like Renfore, Stanek, or Smith if any of those three drop.
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 09:55 AM) Final BA mock draft has Sox taking Alex Gonzalez But he is so old, the sox dont need an old shortstop
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:02 AM) But he is so old, the sox dont need an old shortstop Yeah, plus he was just cut so they could sign him. Why burn a first rounder!?!?!
June 6, 201312 yr Manaea has a torn labrum in his hip, announced today. So yeah, he's not getting drafted up high, if at all. Someone may take a later round flyer on him. I assume he'll head back to school.
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) Yeah, plus he was just cut so they could sign him. Why burn a first rounder!?!?! I think they should draft Henry Rodriguez. He throws really hard, but has some control issues. Totally worth a first rounder
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) I think they should draft Henry Rodriguez. He throws really hard, but has some control issues. Totally worth a first rounder gas yaz
June 6, 201312 yr Why don't they just draft Chris Davis? He is leading the league in home runs and the Sox could really use a bat like that
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:22 AM) Why don't they just draft Chris Davis? He is leading the league in home runs and the Sox could really use a bat like that I'd prefer to draft Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout.
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) But he is so old, the sox dont need an old shortstop I'd prefer the old Cubs SS who blew that Bartman game
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) Callis' final mock has the Sox at Alex Gonzalez. I think that if he's available, he'll absolutely be the Sox pick. Personally, I'd like Renfore, Stanek, or Smith if any of those three drop. The preview says Gonzalez's stock is rising because of the development of his slider. They use different balls in college. Thicker and higher seams. Sliders tend to flatten out a little bit when college pitchers turn pro. If his fastball has a lot of movement, that's a good thing, and there is always the possiblity his slider will still be effective with the different ball, but it is worth noting college baseballs and sliders is kind of like projecting hitters with aluminum bats.

Sure hasn't stopped Addison Reed

That seems very strange that they wouldn't use the same balls.
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:29 AM) That seems very strange that they wouldn't use the same balls. I agree, but it's true.
June 6, 201312 yr Author QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:29 AM) That seems very strange that they wouldn't use the same balls. There is even a difference between different minor league's balls.
