I'll put it up in PHT to start, and then move it over to FutureSox after the conclusion of draft activities.

FutureSox will be covering the draft, on the blog (futuresox.com) and the twitter (@futuresox). Here is a thread for discussion.

Any predictions?

I predict that you didn't notice the thread in PHT when you started this one.

One is MLB Draft, one is just the Sox. So there

Hm. Guess I read the forums in the wrong order today!

I think we'll consolidate. Need to talk to the guys.

Astros take kris bryant

sox take aaron judge

Don't forget that once guys are drafted they're available as Adopt-A-Prospects!

Final BA mock draft has Sox taking Alex Gonzalez

Callis' final mock has the Sox at Alex Gonzalez. I think that if he's available, he'll absolutely be the Sox pick. Personally, I'd like Renfore, Stanek, or Smith if any of those three drop.

But he is so old, the sox dont need an old shortstop

Yeah, plus he was just cut so they could sign him. Why burn a first rounder!?!?!

Manaea has a torn labrum in his hip, announced today. So yeah, he's not getting drafted up high, if at all. Someone may take a later round flyer on him. I assume he'll head back to school.

I think they should draft Henry Rodriguez. He throws really hard, but has some control issues. Totally worth a first rounder

Why don't they just draft Chris Davis? He is leading the league in home runs and the Sox could really use a bat like that

I'd prefer to draft Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout.

I'd prefer the old Cubs SS who blew that Bartman game

The preview says Gonzalez's stock is rising because of the development of his slider. They use different balls in college. Thicker and higher seams. Sliders tend to flatten out a little bit when college pitchers turn pro. If his fastball has a lot of movement, that's a good thing, and there is always the possiblity his slider will still be effective with the different ball, but it is worth noting college baseballs and sliders is kind of like projecting hitters with aluminum bats.

That seems very strange that they wouldn't use the same balls.

I agree, but it's true.

There is even a difference between different minor league's balls.
