One possible reason is Buerhle vs. the Tigers is as close to a guaranteed win as you'd find in MLB. A win is a win and taking a chance with Neal vs. the Yankees may be a good strategy. I'll bet he wants to pitch against them in Yankee Stadium.

We have lsot to the Tigers six times and twice by scores of 1-0 nothing is guaranteed with this tem.
August 25, 200322 yr The Sun-Times said that JM is starting Cotts instead of Buehrle because Buehrle had a tough time warming up in the pen before the game started against Texas. E-Lo vs Rocket is gonna be an awesome game!
