Can confirm. According to a source familiar with the situation, Jake Peavy will not start tonight for the White Sox.

I was told Gil Heredia is starting for the Sox tonight instead, confirm/deny?

I was hoping for Todd Ritchie or Aaron Myette.

It was nice of Chuck to go ahead and confirm something the Tribune posted on their website several hours ago.

I hope Peavy pitches for the Sox. We need to keep him to help stabilize the young staff

f*** that, Wilbur Wood is still alive

So much for the keep Peavy and build around him nonsense rumors.

Andre Rienzo is expected to be called up to start in Peavy's place on Tuesday.

Yes, because the White Sox have confirmed a trade of Jake Peavy

Oh the horror, the horror....

Am I missing something? I expected much more speculation in this thread. Do we know why he's not pitching?

Welcome to yesterday

Really is that why thread was started today?

Holy crap, talk about taking the bait.

The funny thing is he admits the Cubs basically did the exact same thing with Garza, and yet somehow this somehow shows the White Sox are a rudderless ship, whereas for the Cubs, it's "strategy/gamesmanship/brilliant negotiating."

classic Rosenbloom. He is just a less offensive/stupid Bayless, he says things to stir the pot. His Wake and Bake show on the Score is pretty lame, he makes Cheech and CHong jokes all morning.

So what's going to happen first--Peavy trade or Troncoso or Purcey sent down?

Something has to give this afternoon.
