John Danks continued his comeback by pitching the White Sox to a 5-2 victory over the Txas Rangers. He allowed two runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out five to notch his second consecutive win lowering his ERA to 4.15 .

Brother Jordan pitched in by getting 2 hits including a solo HR that put the Sox in the lead for good. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Jordan Danks' go-ahead home run was the first time since June 5, 1955 that a player homered in support of his brother on the mound, when Kansas City catcher Billy Shantz homered for brother Bobby. Danks came into the game in the 4th inning as a replacemnt for Avisail Garcia who hit his head on the chain link fence in RF chasing after a Jeff Baker HR. Up until that point Garcia was 0-1 thus ending his 11 game hitting streak.

The Sox bullpen did the job throwing 3 scoreless innings between Lindstrom, Jones and Reed, with Reed notching his 35th save.

Josh Phegley hit his 4th HR of the season in the 7th inning off Matt Garza to finish the scoring for the Sox.

The Sox have won 14 of its last 20 , and 8 of its last 9.

God damnit I hate this f***ing team. They can't do anything right.

You can't expect a team with this pitching staff to suck all season long. Finally some things are going right. This is a .500 team that went south fast and furious and Robin and his players were not tough or smart enough to fight through it and remain .500ish. Hope it's a better story next year.

Yeah, there aren't very many MLB brother combos that are a pitcher and a position player. Almost all of them are either both pitchers (Maddux, Niekro) or both position players (Upton, Boone)

There have been over 350 brother combinations in MLB history. Some associated with the Sox are Tom Paciorek and his brothers Jim and John, Dick Allen and brothers Hank and Ron, Sandy and Roberto Alomar, Ken Boyer and his brothers Clete and Cloyd, Scott and Willie Eyre, George and Mike Bell, Ken and George Brett, Jose and Ozzie Canseco , Joey and Alex Cora , Orlando and Livan Hernandez ,Jerry Hairston Sr. and Johnny Hairston, Vicente and Enrique Romo, Steve and Dave Sax, Carlos and Lee May, Jose and Javier Valentin, Nyles and Chris Nyman, Jayson and Laynce Nix, Dennis and Jim O'Toole.

My main concern is that the Sox fall ot of the top 10 picks. Under the new collective bargaining agreement, teams with one of the first 10 picks in the draft that sign a free agent who was tendered a qualifying offer are not required to surrender their top pick.

Then we can sign Jose Abreu and surrender our top pick to the Cuban leagues when the embargo is lifted.

Without looking up the few I'm not familiar with, none of those brother combos are pitcher-hitter, are they?

I've been having bad dreams about this team ending up with like pick 12-14 or something. Worst f***ing spots ever. s***, I'll be mad if we don't end up with a top 5 pick, and I'll be let down if we don't end up with top 3. We were sitting pretty at #2 before we decided to sweep the Yankees, and win at like a .700 clip ever since.
