Matt Davidson is looking even more comfortable the past few days

Yeah, though I still think he starts the year at AAA barring some trade action involving Gillapinger. Super 2 timing is at play, and they may want to give Gillaspie a chance to increase his value, plus they aren't in a rush for Davidson. Long term of course the job is his.

I am secretly wanting Beckham to go on the DL so Semien can stay up with the team.

Webb and Cleto instead of Boggs and Axelrod is fine with me.

Abreu's second single on a 0-2 count. Semien walked again. Doing what they do.

Why does Hawk keep saying Semien won two MVP's in the same season?

Danks is now tied for 1st in most HR in Spring Training 2014 for all of MLB

Davidson's homer was impressive, as it was on an inside fastball that it looks like it jammed him. Nice to see Hawkins make contact as well!

It's a good problem to have. Gillaspie is weird--too good to send down, but not good enough that other teams are beating down the door to trade for him.

Talked with a guy today who works for a prime baseball equipment company and just got back from Phoenix on a spring training trip. He's not a fan of any team, just a guy who has been around baseball for long time. He told me two things worth sharing:

 

*Abreu is the most mature of all the Cuban players who have come over to the U.S. in recent years. Said he was really impressed by his professionalism.

 

*Said he liked the Sox young guys and what Hahn has done. Said the Sox were further along than the Cubs.
