Man, if Micah could have another great year and somehow get to Chicago by September, a 1-2-3 of Johnson-Eaton-Abreu looks real tasty.

Davidson 3-3, 2 2b, BB, started 2 DPs

Did Ravelo already get hurt? Lifted for Christian Marrero in the 5th. Seems like he misses significant time every season.

Would prefer Eaton-Semien-Abreu personally, though if both develop as hoped it will be a nice problem to have.

Keon Barnum with 3 walks. Nicely done.

Barnum finished with 3bb's for Dash, nice.

Kyle Hansen 1 IP, 0 BB, 2 SO in relief for Dash. Really disappointed he's not starting this year. He was excellent last year. I guess Sox don't see too much in his stuff.

Hoping to see Beck significantly increase his K rate this year. Until then I see him as a back-end of the rotation guy at best.

Agreed. 3SO/1BB in 5IP tonight is not the best of starts.

me too, if he develops and his defense staggers put him in the outfield and let him bat ninth that would be nice turn over at the bottom.

Here's our first daily recap article. We'll be doing these daily going forward, should usually be up that night after the games. That one was southside hitman (Rob), but raBBit (Brian) will also be doing them, and occasionally Dan or I as well.

I'd bet they still like his stuff, but he's a reliever long term, and had a hard time staying strong his first year starting.

I saw him last August, near the end of Kanny's season. Lots of guys are pretty tired out by then of course. But Hansen, who can throw mid-90's, was struggling to hit 90. Lots of 88, 89 fastballs. His slider was pretty wicked, wiped out a lot of guys with it. But the fastball was slow and didn't have much life. I think he just lacks the stamina, at least right now, to start.

Still think he could be a good reliever though.

Yeah, Eaton-Semien are better OBP players right now, so they should definitely be 1-2 if they continue to develop. Micah potentially could be a dynamic #7-8-9 hitter. Perhaps, most importantly, he will need to find a position where he can handle defensively. Might end up in LF.

Johnson/Eaton/Garcia might give you 18-20 homers.

That's probably not going to cut it unless you're making it up at 3B, middle infield and catcher.

If you're adding him onto that list and they're only giving 18-20 homers then Garcia isn't going to be long for this team.

Encouraging to see Davidson and Micah start off the season well. I still can see Micah play a quality second base, he played pretty well at second in spring training. Also nice to see Barnum draw 3 walks last night.

Disappointed in Thompson going 0-5

I'm hoping it was just the injuries that caused him to get off to a slow start with his professional career and he has a nice bounce back season this year now that he's apparently healthy.

Or they really like him and his feel for pitching and are trying to fast track him. Daniel Webb started 2013 in A+ with the Dash and ended in the majors, where he currently sits. Addison Reed started 2011 with the Warthogs and ended up in the majors, closing the following season.

Moving someone to the bullpen isn't always an indication that the team doesn't like him in the rotation.
