Frank Montas will miss the Futures Game because he will have knee surgery. #WhiteSox

Now that sucks. Talk about a dude that was seemingly on the verge of a breakout season. I wonder how bad it is?

Frank Montas came over in Peavy trade. Great season will be cut short (4-0, 1.60 ERA in 62 IP). Hear could be instructs b4 pitches again.

Frank Montas had a meniscus injury in one knee this spring and rehabbed it. This one is in the other knee. Needs surgery.

A pitcher with bad knees...what.

Looks like it is season ending

Per Frank Montas return: Instructs = team instructional league of camp, held after minor-league season ends. #WhiteSox

Good news is, this sort of surgery isn't a big effect on pitching from what we've seen. And he's still quite young. Not ideal of course, but not the end of the world.

Horrible news but at least this is a positive.

As long as it's nothing dealing with his arm. Tough break for the kid though.
