Thanks for the comments. It appears that perhaps the best course is to let him start the season at AAA, and work on polishing his defense at second.

I don't find the assessment that he has "hard hands", very encouraging. A guy with foot speed, and hard hands, seems better suited for the outfield. However, so be it. Let's see if he can 'soften' his hands, a little.

and again, I agree with you. but I bet the same bet, that the sox will let the urgent sense of

doing something right happens first. I am leaning that the sox will let the smoke settle and the

field play out before they do something.

Semien was the one they tried out there so I'm guessing if any of the MIs get moved to LF it'd be him.

That's exactly what I was thinking but was rather disappointed after he came back up that he didn't play any OF after he had in the minors. I know everyone is thinking LH hitting OF but maybe Semien could be the full timer out there as long as we get a LH DH or switch hitting DH for the middle of the order.

Let's not forget that the 2014 White Sox finished middle of the pack in the AL in batting but the lower end in pitching and defense. Now an improved bullpen and the addition of Rodon should improve the pitching as long as Hahn can make some solid additions to the pen. But the Sox have to improve the defense as well. Sticking players in positions for their offense may still result in another poor season. It is okay to use 2015 as a rebuilding year if you think a player will grow into a position. But you are much better experimenting at the AAA level than costing ML games and it may help the young player as well from a pressure standpoint.

I am sure if he can handle 2b that is what the Sox prefer but if not there are a lot of players that became OFs. The Sox have one right now. The gold glove LF was a third baseman. Tim Raines came up as a 2B.
