I respectfully suggest that you are reading too much into this line up considering it's the third game of spring training. Beckham hit second lots of times in his tenure with the Sox. Davidson is a candidate at some point for the Sox at 3B and Beckham is considered a super sub (2B, SS and 3B) Plus Gordon is at 2B in this game and is a legitimate contender for that position with Johnson and Sanchez.

It is just a formality saying that he is competing for the 2B job, but the only way he gets the jobs is if Micah and Sanchez are injured or show MAJOR regression from last year. Beckham is only here to be a utility infielder, that is it.

Are you Hawk?

Is there a stream of this or audio only?

I dont think this one is going to be streamed

If you have MLB audio, the Padres feed is available.

Rodon gets the K on his curve ball to start the game, aided by an appeal to the first base ump on the swing.

Rodon starts the game of with a K

Edited by Condor13

Another swing and a miss for a K on the curve. Two down for Rodon.

Make that 2 Ks

Quentin got hit. That. Is. Awesome.

Quentin hit by a pitch, as usual for him

Padres radio announcer just referred to Ryan Braun as "That cheater in Milwaukee"

Specifically in reference to him "robbing" Kemp of the MVP award.

Make that 3 Ks for Rodon

Rodon finishes teh inning with a K on the curve. 3K 1H and 1 HBP in his first inning of work.

Padres announcer, referring to Rodon after the third K: "This guy. Is. Nasty."
