Is robbie a FA after this year?

Featured Replies

??

If not, next time i go to a game, i'm gonna go to grandstand and get myself his jersey, i love that guy.

I don't think many teams will be chasing him. He seems to like it here, however.

And there is no reason to let him walk after this year. We have no one ready in the minors to play second, and any FA worth having is probably gonna cost more then Robbie.

I would like to see him sign a one year contract. With us.

Jim,

I tend to agree with everything you write.

One year.

What will it cost us?

Is some team dumb enough to give him 5 years at 9 mill a year?

What idiotic team would sign RA for long term after what happened

in NY?

Hire Sandy as mgr and keep Robbie.

Unless we win it all; then keep JM

KW says he wants Sandy back as a player next year. That's step one in resigning Roberto. He says he's happy here. I think he'll be back for one and an option, probably around the 4-5million mark. He sure has made a difference in our quality of play.

What would the Sox' other options be if Robbie was not re-signed?

Is Miles considered a 2B option, or would it be Willie Harris?

Regardless, if management chooses to keep him, I'd love to see Robbie return next season.

He has played hard and played a really nice defensive 2B.

Fernando Vina is a FA and the same age. The Cards may make a run at him. As well as the Dodgers, Texas, and any other team that wants a 2B.

I think Vina might be a little more expensive, and I'd rather have Robbie because Vina seems to get hurt more than Robbie.

Read somewhere that Vina is throwing kisses at the Cubs.

Sandy has done a nice job for us this year. I'm pleased with him on this club.

I'd also love to see Robbie come back next year.

Don't be so sure about how many teams will be looking at Robbie. I think St. Louis would be content to let Bo Hart, 26 years old, play 2B next year. I would be willing to bet that St. Louis looks to spend their money this offseason on pitching, starting and relieving.

Last I heard, Texas was happy with Michael Young, 26. Maybe that has changed, but he's a good young player. He makes $250,000 a year, and they could spend their money on pitching as well. His stats: .303, 13 hr, 67 rbi.

I would think the Dodgers, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh would be most likely teams to show interest. I'd be surprised to see Robbie anywhere but wearing the black and white in Chicago next year.

GO SOX!!!

Don't hire Sandy as manager. I don't think he'd be ready to manage. I would love to see him as a bullpen coach or working with out young talent. I don't care how, but he has to be back next year. I'm surprised how he has settled in Chicago after playing all those years in Cleveland. Sandy will probably get a bunch of offers to be sometime of coach next year from several teams.

Is it definite that he is retiring or what? I haven't heard anything.

Last year I was down on Sandy, but I've come around.

He has had a nice season.

And like everybody else, I love Robbie.

Great D and the guy can bunt.
