As if I needed more reasons to love Chris Sale, him banging on the Royals clubhouse to get to Volquez (so the rumor seems to be) makes me love him even more. For so long it seemed the Sox played without that heart and fire you see on other teams.

You can bet they appeal and drop appeals so that Sale and Samardjiza aren't suspended at the same time.

Just want to point out that Sale and Samardzija aren't really missing a start. The Sox are just forced to use a 6th starter, and the guy at the end of the rotation will miss the start around the all-star break.

 

If they really wanted to punish a starting pitcher, they really should be forced to miss 10 games. So it's all good.

 

They really should. Alter their fines so it's the equivalent of how many games they are being forced to "miss" so it's not unfair financially and maybe create a suspension list that operates the same as bereavement/paternity in allowing teams to call up a 26th man. Suspensions for starting pitchers really are kind of a joke

I think you're right but two things. Any reason to be sure it's Carroll and not Rodon? and how do you know Carroll (or Rodon) is going Saturday as opposed to Friday/Sunday/Monday?

 

I split Danks and Quintana up. Carroll instead of Rodon because it hasn't reached the point where somebody needs to be dropped from the rotation. He was brought up to be in the pen, for now. Might as well leave him there. Better yet, send him back to Charlotte to start again, and forget he was ever brought up. But I'm sure some will disagree with that.

Guess they aren't dropping the suspensions until after Detroit.

I get the feeling the Sox are going to get a little break from MLB for dealing with Angelos' stubborn loathing of DC. Perhaps in the form of Sale winning his appeal and Samardizija getting a 3 game suspension that's merely ceremonial.

No, Hayes clarified his cryptic tweet saying that he was just lining it up and that it's unknown right now. Right now for certain: Samardzija @ BAL, Sale-Q-Noesi @ MIN. I'd still assume that Shark/Sale drop appeals after their respective starts.

 

Yeah, the White Sox aren't going to announce that they are dropping suspensions on X date. It will just come out when it happens.
