May 9, 201510 yr Lots of baseball to be played today for the Sox and their affiliates with two double headers. Glad I have plenty of beer in the fridge to go with all these baseball games.
May 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (StRoostifer @ May 9, 2015 -> 11:26 PM) Winston tied 2-2 in the 7th. Fry 6ip 5H 2er 5K 0BB thanks for the updates. 2014 draft keeps paying off. Adams had a very good outing and so has Fry. future looks very good, if they continue with their development.

May 10, 201510 yr Kevan Smith with a 2 run triple. Currently hitting .284 Can he replace Flowers, please?
May 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (daggins @ May 9, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) Timmy just hit the cycle. I'm excited to see what he can do in his career
May 10, 201510 yr Kevan Smith update: 3 for 3: 1B, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI, .304 avg. A home run away from the cycle
May 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ May 9, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) Eddy Alvarez 2 for 3, 2B, 3B, BB Now homers, was only a single away from the second cycle of the night
May 10, 201510 yr So one guy hits for the cycle (Anderson) and two more (Smith, Alvarez) almost hit for the cycle. Wow.
May 10, 201510 yr Author Anderson's homer for the cycle http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...83&sid=milb
May 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 9, 2015 -> 11:23 PM) Anderson's homer for the cycle http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...83&sid=milb That ball was launched.
May 10, 201510 yr Poor Alvarez. He might need to learn a new position if he wants to move up anytime soon. Rondon/Peter and Anderson/DeMichele are firmly entrenched at higher levels.
May 10, 201510 yr Great night from Anderson but needs to starting walking. He only has two walks so far the entire season, I would imagine more advanced pitchers would not give him much to hit.
May 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ May 10, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) Poor Alvarez. He might need to learn a new position if he wants to move up anytime soon. May 10, 201510 yr Might be controversial but I wouldn't actually mind skipping Alvarez to AAA. He's completely torn up A-ball in consecutive years, there's no space for him at A+ or AA, and the shortstop at AAA has no major league potential (imo). He doesn't have anything more to do in A-ball and moving him off shortstop isn't good for his value. Worst case scenario he craters at AAA and you can send him back to A-ball and just move him up whenever Anderson/Rondon move up. Best case scenario he does nicely and you know you've got something.

AAA? Jeez let's at least consider AA, and even that is a bit much probably.
May 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 10, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) AAA? Jeez let's at least consider AA, and even that is a bit much probably. His lack of baseball pedigree calls for slower progression through the minors, not faster. There's an extent to which you want his real age to match his level, but he's behind in his baseball development. The Sox have nothing invested in him so it isn't like they need to have the pick paying off dividends before some arbitrary deadline, so no use risking him or anyone else in pushing too fast
