May 18, 201510 yr This guy is still young, not many miles, and throws 99. There have been worse taking up 40 man spots, but an ERA over 7.00 is a good time to get him through. What this does is either allow the team to be able to add another player to the 40 man roster in case of injury, without risking losing them, or it allows them to put in a waiver claim if someone pops up they like.
