Following today’s game vs. Toronto, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Scott Carroll to @KnightsBaseball.

Scott Carroll to Charlotte. Imagine Matt Albers is on way though no official move til Friday. #WhiteSox

Micah or Saladino please

Carroll has been great as a long man. Better to be lucky etc etc but I'll take his performance.

Maybe they are bringing Erik Johnson up and moving Danks to long relief

Really is nice when you have a pitcher like Danks, to have someone like Carroll who can handle the random blowups and save the pen. Him and Duke did a great job last night.

Seriously doubt Albers is coming up. Gave up 5 runs in 2/3 of an inning.

No way they would have pitched him Thursday night if they needed him Friday afternoon in Chicago.

He's chum.

Saladino, on the other hand, did not play.

I'll vote that he's in town, especially with Alexei iffy,

The only pitcher I want getting called up is EJ followed by Danks to the pen, otherwise this move doesn't help. Albers does nothing for me and Carroll is a good LR guy

Saladino meanwhile would be intriguing.

Danks isn't pitching until well after the break so no need to call up a sphone right now.

I'm guessing it's Saladino

That's the problem...Danks is taking up 2 roster spots.

Albers pitched yesterday and Saladino didnt play. They are guessing that they are holding Saladino in waiting in case Alexei cant go

I don't usually care for human interest stories in sports, but for some reason I root for Carroll and always root for him to keep that long reliever spot on the 25-man.

Albers pitched (and got shelled) last night, which makes his callup less likely (but not impossible).

Tyler Saladino, on the other hand, didn't play - so my money is on him at this point.

If you want to know more about Saladino, here is his profile.

It's a position player.
