SoxNet: Jason Benetti Interview

Featured Replies

Folks:

A few weeks ago, thanks in part to Bob Grim of the White Sox's help, I was able to have a phone conversation with new Sox TV broadcaster Jason Benetti.

I found him to be funny, smart and have a passion for his position and the responsibilities that come with it to White Sox fans.

That interview was just published this morning (appreciate it Dan!) and here is the link for it, should you be interested.

I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed conducting it.

That's good stuff. I especially liked the part where he talked about clearing his schedule to meet with Jerry.

Like Aladdin, are a diamond in the rough Mark.

Yea was going to say the same. Interesting that JR is still so hands on even at his age. For better or worse no doubt.

Good interview Lip. I have to say sometimes your style is a bit anachronistic but you got some great answers out of Jason.

Appreciate it but could you explain a little more about the anachronistic comment, I take no offense mind you, would just like to understand more of what you mean.

Maybe its something I can adjust a little bit.

the best example is probably signing your posts. Your handle is your sig. We know who is posting. It's no big deal and I enjoyed the interview with Jason. I think he's a good asset for the Sox.

Meh.

You're old old head too :D

Anachronistic: Millennials basically calling anyone over 40 or 50 dinosaurs who should be put out to pasture.

C'mon Lip, make baseball fun again, wear your cap backwards or the to the side, etc.

Terrific interview. Really enjoyed it a lot. I've liked Jason and Stone together and hope that the pairing remain for years to come.

JR actually has the final say on the announcers from what I've been told. Some individuals for example never could get him to sign off on Dave Wills and he eventually left when the Tampa opportunity came up.

Great job on the interview. Thank you. If Jason reads the threads, which he might being a pretty young guy ... I think you are doing a nice job, sir. You and Stoney have a good to great rapport and I enjoy the change of pace. That said, Hawk rocks as well. Go Sox!

I loved his jinx moment last night on the Ortiz home run. He was saying something about the Sox controling Ortiz, and as it was coming out of his mouth Ortiz crushed his homer, and Benetti he just went "uh-oh".
