  1. Agreed. Look at Giolito. Look at Moncada. Look at Eloy. These guys all seem to struggle coming up and once they adjust, they are studs.
  2. So is Giolito starting the Allstar Game for the AL?
  3. 2 for 7 McCann and Colome versus Nova, Alonso, Herrera, Jay, Santana
  4. Agreed, you lost me here... if BackDoorBreach’s assumption is correct. I don’t like either equally. 😂
  5. The false hope of getting to .500 and making a run is over. They are probably better off. It makes Hahn’s decision to trade off Colome and Abreu easy. And Fulmer should be pitching in relief at this point. Frare too.
  6. I think we are all just waiting for him to be cut loose for Collins. He has zero trade value.
  7. There is no manager with a worse/late hook on pitchers than Renteria. He has the uncanny ability to only yank starters and relievers AFTER they blow the game. Is he intentionally tanking for the high draft pick?
  8. The best is that we have a bunch of good young players. I hope they all pan out.
  9. Not everyone is a super fan and enjoys watching their favorite team not make the playoffs for the past 11 years and have losing seasons in 9 of those years.
  10. I also said that the success/failure of the trade depends on the return for Colome. Hahn was 2 for 7 with his offseason acquisitions. McCann and Colome are great. Everyone else he acquired was/is about as bad as possible.
  11. A bit too much hyperbole. That last sentence is a great idea though.
  12. Why would you not trade Abreu? He’s a free agent after this year. You can always resign him.
  13. I believe he’s posted in the past that he thinks plenty of closer types will be available and even listed them out.
  14. Good point but Thome was still a good move and honestly Rios was just money and had a couple good seasons. Dunn apparently forgot to hit once he came to the AL.
  15. I like this and I agree. Bullpens are so flukey. Only the top guys are worth going after. Colome, Abreu, and any money they have to spend should be going to find a RF bat, starting pitching, and perhaps even a catching prospect. McCann is no sure thing to repeat and Collins may not be able to handle the load behind the plate.
  16. It was a great signing but $50 million isn’t exactly a lot to spend. Hell, Hahn wasted almost that much this past offseason acquiring lower tier players. Herrera ($18M) Alonso ($9M) Nova ($9M) Jay ($4M)
  17. And what do you think? Will the Sox pay for top free agent talent when they get to this point?
  18. Fine, playing the semantics game must be fun for you. So when the Sox rebuild is over and they are ready to compete, I don’t think the Sox will acquire top free agents to assist in a winning dynasty. Do you?
  19. You are ridiculous. So there are no phases to a rebuild? You aren’t comprehending at all.
  20. You apparently can’t comprehend sentences. My point is that even when the Sox rebuild is over and they expect to be ready to compete, I don’t see them filling any remaining holes by signing a top free agent or two. They will simply try to compete with their in-house players.
  21. The Cubs signing Lester is the kind of move I am referring to. Once they thought the team was ready to compete, they started to spend. I don’t see the Sox doing the same. They will try to compete with mostly their prospects and not any big free agent signings.
  22. Agreed. I’d rather see the Sox sign a couple premier players than spread out a bunch of money on several lower tier players.
