  1. If the Yankees and Red Sox aren't in, it wouldn't surprise me if Astros-Sox were primetime games.
  2. Part of I think what people are forgetting about the Kimbrel trade is that it eases the strain on people like Bummer. I don't think it's a coincidence that Bummer and Crochet have pitched better since that trade. The pressure isn't there for them to be THE GUY. They just have to be key part of the bullpen.
  3. My gut says Tuesday. Wednesday at the latest. I will say, Houston has struggled this year against under .500 teams and that Oakland series is no joke. I think there's still a solid chance we get home field in the first round.
  4. I would love Semien. I think it's too early to tell with him. They also did just draft a Shortstop who can likely be groomed as a second baseman as well.
  5. I agree with TLR and Maddon. It probably was intentional but this is bullshit. Abreu gets hit constantly and we all hold our breath. They aren't cheapies either. Some of them are pretty ugly. I feel like while they might not be htting him intentionally, they don't want to face him and so they get careless. If you don't want to face him, put him on. But this is bullshit.
  6. Yeah. I can see why they would want a roof but Miller Park is lovely and retractable.
  7. Sheets has sneaky speed. Could be a 15-20 steal guy
  8. I feel like at least SkyDome and the Trop are defensible as being ballparks very much of their time. This is just bad. Sorry it's just every time there is a groundball and I see the turf I want to throw something.
  9. Sorry, this turf is ugly. Ballpark at Arlington was one of the most picturesque parks around. I feel like an old man but WTF? The park was, what, 25 years old?
  10. Cole getting lit up. Let's see if the yankees offense can do something against a scrub pitcher
  11. Houston has a pretty brutal last week. I still think there is a decent chance that the Sox do get home field advantage in this round.
  12. The first Cubs game on the south side is the closest we have come.
  13. Am really tempted, if everything goes right, to go to Yankee Stadium sunday and for the only time in my life, root for the Yankees to beat Cleveland so I can see the Sox clinch in person.
  14. Is Hendriks ok? Or are they just gonna throw Kimbrel out in the 9th if it's a tie?
  15. Don't care if he's 0-3. Don't give him anything close.
  16. It's a damn tragedy how relied upon it is in today's game. But that being said, Lynn, Giolito, Lopez and Rodon are on strict pitch count limits. And it seems they are also limiting how many apperances the key bullpen guys are getting. I don't see what role Keuchel plays in the ALDS. ALCS is a different story. I think Keuchel could potentially be an opener in a long series. But in a short series, if he can't start, I don't see what he does.
  17. If he's letting Keuchel go 97 pitches, it's obvious he ain't making the ALDS roster. His entire purpose in the last month is to just eat innings.
  18. To be honest. This is great and wonderful. Watching this on TV made me miss my father even more because baseball was one of the things we shared that we love. Just really great and I love that when everyone has written baseball off, this kid could be this inspired by something he saw from his favorite baseball player. Truly inspiring and awesome!
  19. "It's ok mommy. I heard the Australian man say it on TV while pitching"
  20. Keuchel with 37 pitches through 3 innings? Wow! Climate change might have been solved just now.
