  1. Did Ron hack your account? There's nothing stopping owners from asking for economic concessions if there will be no fans in 2021. Everyone already knows where I stand on this and I'm tired of arguing it. Only posting neutral comments/news in this thread from now until next spring.
  2. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/reynaldo-lopez-looking-up/
  3. I really wish they wouldn't have signed EE and given Collins and Mercedes a look at DH.
  4. Record: 32-28 Positives: Giolito keeps getting better, quickly approaching ace territory Rodon finally starts showing why he was the 3rd pick in the 2014 draft Eloy/Mazara rake Herrera is back to being good Neutral outcomes: Cease takes a step forward, but not to good level (ERA in the low 4s, lots of Ks, lots of BBs) Grandal and Abreu are Grandal and Abreu EE hits .220 but 20 dingers Anderson hits .290 but with more power Negatives: Lopez continues to suck Moncada has an off year, but looks great in September after a slow July/August. Keuchel gets knocked around a bit Colome sucks and is replaced as closer Madrigal is a bit disappointing in the XBH/BB dept. Ultimately, the Sox offense and Giolito/Rodon are good enough to push them over .500 but not quite enough to make the playoffs.
  5. I don't disagree..I just don't expect a lot from him over the first 1-3 weeks of the season. He'll be fine by mid-August.
  6. No, I learned from that. I analyzed that situation and came to this conclusion.
  7. Can he be ready to go 10 days from now? That is the question. Moncada isn't even back yet so we have no way of knowing when he's going to be ready to play. If he does play OD, I hope that nobody jumps on his performance should he start slowly. He's a rep/feel based hitter so if he's not locked in to start don't be surprised. Should he start the season, I'm not expecting much from him for the first 2-3 weeks, and writing off it as covid ball if he has a subpar 60 games.
  8. Sorry, missed it this time. Sarcasm is hard over text.
  9. I never said that, I questioned whether or not he'd be ready for the start of the season.
  10. Yeah it looked like it yesterday. The one he threw to Basabe was a Jim Dandy.
  11. Let's talk about Giolito finding that 70 grade curveball again.....AL hitters are gonna have nightmares.
  12. Giolito is going to win a Cy Young if he's found the curveball again.
  13. Fry either ks everyone or walks everyone. There is no in between.
  14. If Giolito can get that curve back that he had in the minors....wow.
  15. When I said "that's the bottom line" I was referring to the idea that it's not our call to make, not that the logo would or wouldn't be changed. I don't think it's 100% certain but I do think the odds are >50%, and I do think that the majority of the media attention will be shifted toward the Blackhawks once Cleveland changes their name, which was what I was referring to when I said "it's just a matter of time"
  16. 1. There hasn't been a huge push for the Blackhawks because of the Washington NFL franchise and the Cleveland MLB franchise had way worse name/logo combination. When those two aren't there to take the heat off of the Blackhawks, where will all of the attention go? 2. While I agree with you...ultimately, it's not our call to make. My opinion lacks credibility, because it doesn't affect me. That's the bottom line. Brace yourselves, because it's just a matter of time.
  17. We'll see if they change their tune when corporate sponsors threaten to pull advertising and sponsorship. If it wasn't for that pressure, Snyder would have never changed his team's name/logo. They'd change the logo in about a week if that happened. Money makes the world go round.
  18. How did nobody post that Carl Reiner passed last week at 98? RIP to a legend.
