  1. Oh definitely, that one in 2000 was quite a doozy. This wasn’t near that, but hoping it has the same effect on the team after today like that one did for the Sox back then.
  2. Shades of a bench clearer in 2000 with the Tigers that woke that Sox team up and got them going. I’m ok with a little broo ha ha right now to rev up the troops a bit in this otherwise dull last week for them.
  3. The team that looked outstanding in playoff type atmospheres and mostly in front of national audiences, such as the Field of Dreams game, the recent Red Sox series, both Cubs series, and even the recent Yankees series, will be the one we see next month once the team returns to that type of atmosphere. No worries whatsoever. Not with the talent on this team.
  4. The wild card is Mr. Boras as agent greatly reduces the likelihood of Rodon returning, especially if he lights it up next month. I’m not convinced this organization as currently owned and operated will ever agree to sign a Boras premium free agent. Hope I’m wrong, because I love Rodon.
  5. I’m not just talking about this one game. It’s the trend since he’s joined us. I think Kimbrel is a great pitcher, and there’s a reason he’s a future Hall of Famer. But the plan the Sox have for him isn’t working as designed. We are putting him in unfamiliar situations, and quite frankly, embarrassing situations. Putting him in tonight, this elite reliever, as some sort of mop up man with a seven run lead against a lowly team like the Cubs is a joke, and we are paying the price for it.
  6. This future HOF reliever gave up two home runs to the Cubs with a seven run lead and you post this? Seriously?
  7. The Sox have thrust him into situations he’s just not comfortable in. 8th inning situations and then a seven run lead over a team like the Cubs. You can see it in his eyes. He’s trying, but he’s a future HOF reliever, and it’s almost like asking Abreu to play shortstop. On paper having he and Liam back-to-back in the late innings sounds great, but obviously in reality, it’s not working.
  8. You’re stressed out with a six run lead with one out in the 8th against the…Cubs?
  9. You are really one of the most astute posters here. Really enjoy your observations
  10. Great points. For me, on a healthy team, Leury is an ideal super sub. With all of the injuries, of course, he’s been exposed more than you’d like. For the remainder of this year, he won’t kill us as part of a platoon in RF batting 8th or 9th. Not with the return of our injured players
  11. Get a clue on what a super sub means, and maybe, just maybe, you might understand how valuable he is to our team.
  12. What an outing by ReyLo, and what an unexpected asset we may have and need in October.
  13. He’s laid off several pitches tonight he would have swung at as a rookie. Very encouraging
  14. America this month has seen quite a show by Tim Anderson with everything he’s done on all of these national telecasts we’ve been on.
  15. So good to hear “Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!” at our completely filled ballpark!
  16. Not to mention, but just having similar stats doesn’t mean you profile as the same player. I liked Quentin for the hot minute he was here, but I don’t think of or see him when watching Vaughn.
