  1. I've read on this site and elsewhere that 2019 is another rebuild year. ( also known as tanking/losing on purpose) I would rather rebuild/tanking/losing on purpose with Cease as opposed to pitching Nova, Banuelos and Despaigne. You never know how Cease will do up in the Bigs until he's here. I think its already established how Nova, Banuelos and Despaigne are going to produce. I say its time to move on from these 3 bums and pitch Cease. Who knows, he might do well.
  2. How many times has Carson Fulmer been brought up the last few years? How many times has he deserved to be called up? Most of the White Sox starting pitchers haven't been able to get anybody out. What would be the harm in bringing Cease up? Let him get his feet wet up in the bigs now. if he only pitches 4-5 innings each time he starts, so be it. Cease would of been called up by most MLB teams by now. As I stated before, if Cease would of signed the contract extension this past spring, I have no doubt that he would be pitching for the White Sox now.
  3. Haven't heard anything but are the White Sox going to sign Vaughn?
  4. I doubt that any other MLB team would bring this guy up and not Cease. This tanking/losing on purpose is terrible. Maybe if Cease would have signed that contract offered to him this spring he would have been called up.
  5. I'm beginning to wonder if Cease will be brought up this season. Hahn seems determined to keep him down in the Minors. If Cease would have signed the contract extension offered to him this spring by Hahn, he probably would be in the white Sox rotation now.
  6. 1)If somebody is going to judge JR as a business man you have to rate him as a success. He is worth nothing but money. Both the Bulls and White Sox have become gold mines for him. 2)If you're going to judge JR as a Baseball owner you have to judge him differently. As a White Sox owner the 2005 World Championship is the only thing he can hang his hat on. Other than that his ownership has been a flop. The things that he has done wrong as a owner are too long to list. One of the comments you always hear about JR is how much baseball means to him. It might mean something to him but I think making money has always been and always will be the main thing with him. I wish he would sell the team. If the day comes when this franchise has a new owner that new owner will be welcomed with open arms by White Sox fans.
  7. I just came back from there. Hundreds of people there. Some were spending some serious money on different items. I bought one bobblehead and one White Sox media guide.
  8. I'm just hoping for a winning season from this team. A season where the team wins more games than they lose. The 63, 64, and 65 teams had great pitching which is why they averaged 96 wins. This present pitching staff has 3 real good pitchers. (Giolito, Colome and Bummer) You can't win without any decent pitching. Either Hahn is baseball stupid or he's losing on purpose. I remember reading last season that Derek Jeter gets an additional $5 million dollars a year if he keeps the Marlins payroll low. I wonder if Hahn has the same clause in his contract. Even tho he has wasted millions of dollars this year on Nova, Jay, and Alonso the White sox will still have one of the lowest payrolls in MLB.
  9. I don't think Hahn is a dumb bunny. He's just the worse White Sox GM in their modern history. (post 1951) If he lost his GM job with the White Sox he would never be hired by another team as there GM.
  10. If Renteria is replaced I'm sure it will be another low paying manager who has very little if any MLB experience as a manager. JR isn't going to pay any big money for a manager. He never has paid big for a manager and he never will.
  11. Didn't Hahn say numerous times that the White Sox would sign a premier free agent this past off season? I knew it was BS and he probably should not have said anything. He would have been better off. He upset the White Sox fan base when he didn't sign Machado or Harper.
  12. Relievers are a dime a dozen but good relief/closer pitchers are hard to come by. Colome is the first good reliever/closer the team has had since David Robertson. If the White Sox trade Colome who would become the closer? Maybe Bummer.
  13. Times have changed, that's for sure. Years ago if the team was bad it didn't draw and the team lost money. Today you lose and with low payrolls you make nothing but money. Always remember that Forbes magazine said the White Sox were the 6th most profitable team in MLB in 2018. This losing year after year and the franchise making nothing but money doesn't cut it with me. I dearly wish that JR would sell the team.
  14. Keuchel just signed with the Braves. JR + Hahn are not going to sign any premium free agents. This so called rebuild is going to be done as cheaply as possible. Hopefully the White Sox farm system will produce enough good players and this team can start winning again sometime in the near future.
  15. I would rather have Epstein running the White Sox instead of Hahn. Look at Epsteins record and then look at Hahns record. I have no doubt in my mind that the bad guys on the Northside will continue to fight for the playoffs in the forseeable future. Wish I could feel the same way about the White Sox.
  16. Lopez can't get anybody out. What do the White Sox have to lose in bringing Cease up to the Majors? Cease might get hitters out.
  17. Say what you want but at least the bad guys on the Northside are trying to win. I can't say the same about the White Sox management team.
  18. Lopez stays up in the Majors and Cease stays down in the Minors. It's absolutely insane.
  19. This White Sox starting rotation is really bad. Other than Giolito this rotation is for the birds. I can't understand why Cease hasn't been called up. What does the team have to lose by bringing him up? He couldn't be any worse than there present starters. Are they keeping him in the minors because he refused to sign a long term contract this past spring?
  20. Colome could actually be on the AL All Star Team if he keeps saving games.
  21. There are some people who like seeing Juan Minaya and Matt Davidson as our closers. There are also some people who are into a perpetual rebuild. The White Sox finally have a closer (Colome) who saves games. He's the first good closer the team has had since David Robertson. Unless the team gets a overwhelming offer for him, ( I don't mean another Blake Rutherford) I hope he stays here. I go to half of our home games. Its good to see somebody like Colome coming in and saving our games.
  22. If Colome gets traded I just hope the team gets something decent in return. I don't want another David Robertson for Blake Rutherford trade.
  23. The number/interest he got back wasn't intriguing but I would rather have him in the White Sox rotation than Covey-Banuelos. At least with Gonzalez you had a decent chance of winning and you had a chance of him pitching 5-6 innings every game. And for the money he signed for ($2 million) I would think it would have been a no brainer for Hahn.
  24. Not bringing up Cease and keeping Covet-Banuelos in the rotation is insane or the team is trying to lose on purpose.
  25. 1) Mike Mulligan on the SCORE said the Hahn didn't make Gonzalez an offer. 2) Hahn should have offered him a 2 year contract and he might have accepted it.
