What a great and original thread idea, props Tex.

2 smells I can always remember have to do with seasons.

Summer = Fresh water on hot asphault.

Winter = Cold Air and Chimney Smoke

Those both flash me right back to Park Forest in the early 90's

Freshly cut grass (NOT freshly mowed lawn, there's a big difference)

Barbecue From a Distance

Outdoor Fire

I agree on the grass. I used to love when my dad would cut the grass on Saturday mornings with the dew still on it...

I'm not a fan of outdoor fire for the simple reason that it lingers with you and the next day it reaks stale. Like cigarette smoke. :puke

I love the smell of fresh cut strawberries.

Nothing better than the smell of a locker room after a victory . . .

Linkage here to hockey confirmation seems this fetish may be spreading :lolhitting

MOSCOW - As you wander through the hallowed hallways of Moscow's Red Army Ice Palace, mounds of debris crunch underfoot. Giant metal rods protrude through the ceiling above. That miserable, pungent smell of sweat frosting inside unwashed hockey equipment wafts unchecked near the locker room door.

When I was growing up I always used to look forward to the fall.  Reason being the leaves changing colors was awesome but that sweet smell in the air that came along with it was just to die for.

the smell of deer rifles being shot? :lolhitting
