State your unpopular opinions

Do you hold any controversial opinions? You don't necessarily have to justify or defend your opinions, only to state them. Here's a few to start:

1 - All guns should be outlawed. If you get caught with a gun you pay a $5K fine for your first offense. $10K for a second offense. Your wages and income tax return will be garnished until the fine is paid. EDIT: no jail time.

2 - If you decide to have more than 2 children you pay a one time $10,000 penalty for each additional child after 2.

3 - All drugs should be legalized.

Lets hear what you've got.

If you collect welfare or any other aid from the government you should have to pass random drug tests to collect it. If you fail you can kiss it goodbye for the next month. Penalties increase for repeat offenders.

Prisons and jails should use the inmates for labor and jobs more than they do.

I agree on the first 2 and surprisingly am open to believing the other 2.

I think it should go further...all prisons and jails should be self-sustaining.

Since they want everything equal, women should be eligible for the draft. If they are not, then Title IX should be abolished.

Children under the age of 10 should not be allowed in a rated R movie even if a parent/guardian is present.

No children under 4 should ever be allowed in a movie theater. Period.

Along those same lines, songs about sex should not be allowed on public radio before 10 pm and after 7 am when kids are likely to hear them and pick up the lyrics. Let the parents do their jobs, not the radio.

UNLESS...it's a special time for toddlers only. Many theaters are doing this now. 10 am showing of a kids movie. Then, it's ok.

Title IX is a joke and needs to go.

Awesome! Couldn't agree more, when I worked in the Athletic Department for a big-time Division I school, it's ridiuclous the impact it has on everyone.

The jury trial system should be abolished, replaced by bench trials and panels of judges.

There should be no such thing as punitive damages - all civil trials should only attempt to regain actual losses. If someone deserves to be fined, then the government should levy fines.

Punishments should better fit crimes. For example, if you are arrested for graffiti, the penalty should be that you are up against a wall, with goggles and underwear on, and be spray painted head to toe. It will wear off eventually.

Earmarks should be banned in all legislative bodies (not that unpopular, but...), replaced by a district funding system like the Chicago City Council uses.

Rail infrastructure should get equal treatment as roads. Not equal funding levels, but, same expectations - level playing field. No one expects roads to make a profit, or even revenue, but somehow we expect Amtrak to make a profit? Absurd and unfair. System is broken until this is fixed, and we're stuck with a crappy transportation grid, more expensive oil, and much dirtier air as a result.

No personal money should ever be allowed to be used in campaigns - a 100% public funding system, for in campaigns and in office, is the only way to get rid of corruption.

The DH should be abolished.
