Lineup protection? The dude has OPS’ed around .660 in each of the past two seasons.
-
Honestly disagree. His potential stability even if for 110 games and protection is likely worth more to the younger players in this line-up than whatever you get in a trade at this point
-
And do all teams view him as a rental? He’d have another club option next year.

I don’t know how much this changes. Nobody who wants to win is going to play Bleday in CF. He sucks. -
Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Chicago White Sox replied to Snopek's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They certainly need more offense and the OF is probably an easier spot to add at for them. I do think adding a legit CF makes a ton of sense for them still, but there is starting to be a roster crunch there. -
It's probably going to be better now than when he's a rental or when he's gone for nothing.
-
If I’m not mistaken you said that teams were offering the Cedric Mullins-type return to the Sox for Robert. If that’s the case take that at the deadline if it’s there if you are that desperate to get rid of him. And odds are he’s not healthy but I’m taking the gamble.
-
My post was in regards to moving Robert. That is the worst OF in baseball. They need production there.
-
Hes not bringing back a return right now. You're moving him just to move him.

No but they’ve always had “advisors”. -
At worst, you get nothing out of him because he gets hurt again because he is so injury-prone.
-
In May, you could potentially see an OF of (if he isn’t moved): LF Benintendi (he’s paid a lot, he’s here. He’s going to play) CF Robert (again, if not moved) RF Montgomery Not really room for another every day OF
-
Meh. He won’t be healthy and if he is, rental bats don’t bring back any return anyway.
-
Also Bleday struggled to hit in that Sacremento park...my goodness that's a really bad look. I don't see how he isn't just a platoon bat.
-
Do the Reds still need help in the OF?
-
I agree, I think their pitching staff stinks but I’d still rather try and rebuild Robert’s value than give him up for whatever you can get. I want to see how he can perform with some lineup protection for the 1st time in years. At worst you got a good glove caliber defender in CF.

6+ years of control is still good. They did draft Rodon. -
They won't do anything if they move his money. And if they do, it'll be the same veteran 1 year 8-10 million dollar deal that has yet to ever work out. Luis Robert may be overpaid but he will give you more than whatever you replace him with on any part of the diamond
-
I have. Almost like 10 years ago when Sox where there and then just like 3-4 when they were back.
-
I don't think they do anything more without moving his money.
-
They need outfielders way more. They have the worst OF in MLB and thats with Luis Robert. Trading him for some projectible 4/5 does little and you can likely get it in 6 months anyways. Robert should mean more to the development of the kids already up then he likely gets in a trade.
-
They are obviously hoping he’s the guy he was in 2024, not 2025. But I doubt they are signing him to sit on the bench. He wouldn’t have signed with them to do that. I’m sure this takes them out of the Robert sweepstakes regardless.
-
I feel like we will never see good Luis Robert again. I think injuries have taken their toll.

Are kids allowed to have agents now with NIL? -
Yep, that sucks. Down to the Mets. Acuna is 🤮.
