  2. I'm assuming you're trolling, actually. Senseless? The team's in first place. Their winning pct is better after the TDL than before. Why do you need me to validate your narrative? The team obviously had a plan on how to change his pitch selection. He needs to execute. All the rest is meaningless. I don't care how much money Jerry Reinsdorf pays these guys. I find it's the guys who scream about how cheap JR is that suddenly scream about JR spending money. Y'all scream when he doesn't spend money, then y'all scream when he takes money on. Pick a lane.

Sandlin gets the 7 inning complete game shutout. 1BB 9K2H.
  4. spotrac2026 Chicago White Sox Payroll TableAn updated look at the Chicago White Sox 2026 payroll table, including team totals, retained figures, and complete breakdowns of player salaries, and bonuses.Well, technically 13.7%
  5. So we traded for a pitcher who is worth -1.0 bWAR. He was worth -0.7bWAR when we traded for him. He was one of the worst pitchers in the league when we traded for him and he continues to be one of the worst. He is 33 years old. He is under contract for $24 million next session. The guy we traded isn't a blue chip prospect, but he's on fire, leads the minors in OPS and appears to have a legit bat. Minus Sir Anthony's contract, we owe him $14m next season. That is literally 15% of our current payroll. We have a notoriously cheap owner. That's the worst part of the trade. But somehow you can't see how that was a bad trade. I feel like you're trolling at this point with the senseless positivity.
  6. sodomagic being considered for Sept recall Boston Smith has only been in the Mariners organization for about two minutes (give or take a month or so), but he's already become one of our favorite prospects. At the time of the Luis Castillo trade, we thought it was too good to be true that Smith was included as part of the return package, and since then he has only gone on to reinforce this sentiment. A player who saw a meteoric rise through the White Sox's minor league system, has been even better since arriving in the Pacific Northwest.

Sandlin is dealing in the nightcap 6IP 2H 0R 9K. Grant Clevinger struck out the side again at Kanny. UDFA from Nebraska is blowing away A ball hitters.
  8. AB AVG HR RBI SB OPS 338 .293 31 80 10 1.066
  9. It's just ugly...no matter how you look at it. "Saving" on the Dominguez deal doesn't exactly free up more $$$ to spend in FA in October/November or after the lockout is resolved.
  10. They drafted Thome in the slot they traded for, knowing he would give a discount. They applied the surplus to Prosek. People here screamed that Thome was a "nepo pick", just to argue, it seems. Like if a prospect is available at an appropriate slot, giving a discount, the Sox should not select him to pass some mental purity test for the same people who will scream that Getz messed up by not taking Thome when he was available.
  11. Moncada/Grandal...TA isolated by himself...then Keuchel as well as Meat and Potatoes Kelly Graveman in the pen. Not sure what to say about Jimenez's lack of seriousness about conditioning and improving his craft as a player after everything came so easily in the beginning.
  12. 4-6 guys in Kannapolis ON UP. Do you understand what that might mean? The top 4 levels of the minor leagues. Oh, but they have to lead the minor leagues in OPS? Do they also have to be named Boston Smith to make it work for you? It's silly to pretend that we had one player in our system who would bring trade interest. I don't understand the mental gymnastics you're performing to trash this trade. Thinking people can agree on what Getz was trying to do. Acquire a pitcher who they could work with and not pay a lot for in prospects. Why would I complain about that? We didn't trade Caleb Bonemer and Carlson to acquire Detmers. That's great.
  13. Benintendi has been a disaster in terms of fWAR value over $75 million, but he's always been great against the Twins and hasn't actively hurt them at DH this year.
  14. Feels like the old core crumbled because guys formed cliques and didn't really like each other. When the winning stopped in 2022, whatever chemistry they had in 2021 stopped too.
  15. Fwiw: Robert has a good relationship with many of the current players. Especially Burke and Vargas. They didn't trade him because of chemistry or clubhouse issues.
  16. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/luis-robert-jr-reflects-beautiful-010000130.html Robert was also very complimentary towards Venable for the "fun environment" Venable had created in a recent article.
  17. Beni will probably go down as Hanh's best free agent signing, outside of Hendricks. But it's only because Getz and Co actually finally figured out how to best utilize him.
  18. Because when we want to complain about a trade, the prospects we send out are sure-fire solutions, and future All-Stars, but the prospects we get back are "basically nothing". The White Sox traded Austin Slater to the Yankees for Gage Zeihl. Basically nothing. Gage Zeihl was the guy who went to the Red Sox in the Sandlin/Hicks trade. He wasn't "nothing", he was depth that another team had interest in. Dylan Campbell and Jose Colmenares came back from Philly for Hill. Both interesting bats. Just like Curtis Mead, Boston Smith, and others. Jordan Rich. Jaden Woods was the lefty minor league reliever who came back in the Jacob Gonzalez deal that was panned as trading our future SS to secure a "nepo pick". Oh, Woods is striking out 14.9 per 9 IP in Charlotte, of all places.

  20. No since he pitched 3 innings he's useless for a couple days so sent him down for a fresher arm who isnt pitching anyway but better than a arm in need of recuperation time.
