Rex should retire from NFL football.

Rex should really retire from NFL football.  He is not good enough to be an NFL QB and we see that with his inactivity in the NFL so far.  He has started only 6 regular season games in 3 years.  He has even lost his starting job to the lowly pathetic Kyle Orton.    He has no future in the NFL and should head to NFL Europe or the CFL before his stock falls too low they dont want him.

you're living up to your name. actually, i think you left out an adjective or two...

While I think Grossman should've been played over Orton, I think the problem is that Ron Turner got too greedy and called too many shots downfield. He should've stayed with the game-plan we used all season, more running plays. If Turner had stuck with the gameplan that got them there with Orton, then I think we'd have won, even w/ Steve Smith torturing us. Having Grossman is nice, as it does open the passing game a little more, and then allow for the running game, but I think Orton should be our starter when the season starts. Don't forget, a lot of passes were dropped by the WR's this year, espically Moose. If we get Randle El, and a decent tight end, we could have an explosive offense. 3 speed WR's (Berrian and Bradley), Moose and Gage, Benson, Jones and Peterson, and a TE.

The Bears were in a position where they had to throw to catch up because Smith was eating up Tillman alive. If Turner had turned to a more conservative running offense, I think that the Bears would have lost by a wider margin, JMO.

So you think Grossman is better, but you would rather start Orton?

Give Orton a few more weapons, i.e a speed WR and a tight end and see what he can do.

Didnt he have the same weapons that Grossman had, if not more. And you still said that Grossman opens up the passing game and helps the running game more. You have yet to explain why you want the better QB on the bench.

Throw the ball 5 yards over the head or out of bounds every time? :huh

I'm sorry, but Orton was just brutal as a passer. Many of his passes weren't even close to the receiver. At times I think the receivers were almost in shock that it was actually hitting them in the hands. There were some drops, but Rex had to deal with that too. There simply wasn't any semblance of a passing game with Orton in, while Grossman could actually make a play once in a while. Just think of what he could do if he's actually healthy and works out with the first team offense all season.

I just can't endorse playing a guy that finished with fewer than 100 passing yards in a game 3 times while only cracking 150 3 times. He might not have turned it over, but he didn't exactly make a whole lot of plays either. Rex probably won't turn it over much more (if any more), and there is actually a threat of a passing game with him in. I don't really think it should be a question who the starter is for now.

Apparently the offense was covering Steve Smith all game. I dont think scoring points was our problem in that game.

Nope. Grossman had a speed WR. Bradley got hurt early, and so did Berrian.

LOL, they both had the same weapons. The team didnt trade WRs for different ones when Grossman began starting.

No, but Berrian came back from injury when Grossman went under center, and both of them got hurt in like week 5

Sooooooo, Grossman and Orton both got to throw to Berrian, Clark, Muhammed, Gage, Jones, and Peterson. The only "weapons" that Grossman didnt get to throw to were Bradley and Benson.

So in reality, Grossman had less weapons than Orton did, and IMO ran a much smoother and dangerous offense.

If Rex was really going to be the starting QB next year, Angelo would have said, "Rex is our starter going into the season", instead he said, "Rex is our starter going into training camp". He would not say he is the starter going into the system because he knows already he isnt going to be, it is already a done deal in his mind. Also he talked about how rookies make their biggest progress in 2nd and 3rd years usually, he sounds like he is expecting that from Kyle, well you dont make progress sitting on the bench, obviously he is referring to the progress Kyle will be making on the field in competitive games.

He would not say he is the starter going into the system because he knows already he isnt going to be, as we all do, because Kyle sucked last year.

Stop pulling everyone's chain, the joke's not funny.
