August 12, 200520 yr good luck to u shingo, you were awesome for a year, thanks for the great, but quick memories!!!!
August 12, 200520 yr The best of luck to you Shingo. Your smile after a save was worth the price of admission.
August 12, 200520 yr Good luck Shingo...I'm betting that those NL hitters will have as much trouble picking up the floater as the AL ones did last year. Oh, and Shingo....just walk Jones, Pujols, and Lee.
August 12, 200520 yr Is he the third Japanese player on that team Kaz and the SS from last year? Good for Shingo.
August 12, 200520 yr NL hitters may be fooled for a while, but they too will figure him out and the ball will then go flying out of the park again.
August 12, 200520 yr QUOTE(Yossarian @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) NL hitters may be fooled for a while, but they too will figure him out and the ball will then go flying out of the park again. the problem with shingo this year wasn't JUST that they figured him out. He couldn't get his breaking ball over the plate.
August 12, 200520 yr QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) the problem with shingo this year wasn't JUST that they figured him out. He couldn't get his breaking ball over the plate. Yes, but about 2 months into the season he started getting his whole package over the plate again, but people were still hitting him. That's what sealed his fate.
August 12, 200520 yr Going to Triple A for the Mets to audition for the Big League team? OK. Sure he can get called up before September 1st to be added to the playoff roster, but I am pretty sure the Mets are going to be watching the playoffs on TV.
August 12, 200520 yr He will be good their for 2 reasons: 1 is that any pitcher will have some success at that park because it is a big ballparkr. 2 is that Rick Peterson teh mets pitching coach is a pitching genius.
August 12, 200520 yr I can't help but feel there was still a little bit left in him for us, despite what he was showing us... I guess it's just because he was so darned likeable. Didn't wanna see him go just yet, but it's probably for the best.
August 12, 200520 yr I really hope Shingo has a successful time whereever he goes and I hope the best for his career. He is a good baseball guy. Edited August 12, 200520 yr by Ozzie Montana
