I'm bumping this. May be interesting to listen to his drug testing comments.

Is there a reason it should be interesting?

Somebody at a different board posted that a person at the Score told him that AJ failed a test and it's currently being appealed.

I didn't want to post this myself, figuring it eventually make it over here. But AJ did comment on drug testing, so I guess we'll see what happens...or if it's true.

I looked up the post in question. It is a guy with a total of 47 posts and a new member in July. Anyone know his track record?

NO idea if this is true or not, but it probably deserves its own thread, at least for now.

Let the record show, I didn't start this thread.

It would be very sad if AJ tested positive. It would also explain a lot of why AJ doesnt look like he is really all that focused at the moment

I take full credit for the executive decision to split it out. Luckily we can blame WSI if it bombs ;)

I doubt anybody would be shocked it if was true, considering that he is destroying his career-best power numbers at age 35.

If true, hopefully the appeals process lasts until the end of the month, so he can keep playing during the pennant race.

I was thinking the same thing.

I hope Mark Gonzales or somebody picks up on this, and flat-out asks him today if it's true he failed a test and it's being appealed.

If true this will be the last time he's ever in a White Sox uniform that's for damn sure.

Why would the Score have this info but not report it???

Oh man, this would suck, but it would also make sense.

If he asked, I guarantee AJP would say no. Why let that news out publicly until the last moment possible?

Just to put him on the spot.

That would suck and ruin what was a really fun season.

Wow that would suck, imagine all the s*** AJ would've gotten with his reputation.

If this is true, I just don't know how much faith I have left in following professional sports.

My thoughts exactly. It'd be a real shame, but thankfully T-Flow looks ready to take over if the hammer indeed does come down soon. It would both explain his ridiculous season as well as his recent struggles.

They air White Sox games, and supposedly this s*** shouldn't be reported until the appeals process is done. If it happened.

I don't think it would ruin it, the Sox could still hold off Detroit without AJ.

It's crazy that this would all make complete and perfect sense if true and yet could be 100% bulls*** at the same time.

I assume we will find out soon.

We're quoting anonymous WSI posters now?

If AJ tested positive for anything it's Flintstone vitamins & a positive mental attitude.

However, if this is somehow true, and someone involved in the process has indeed framed AJ and made him incorrectly test positive, then it'll be fun to watch all the Sox fans out there call for AJ's departure in order to go with Flowers, who has of course always been clean.
