5/1 Sox @ Padres - 8:40PM CT
Tatis left the org before Getz could teach him fundamentals.

The right pbp dude can draw out Stone. When he keeps getting asked if they should give the green light on 3-0 (they do that on radio, too), he's not really going to bloom.

I think I might be faster than Murakami.

Me, or Schriff?

Or you could just butt out and go make lists of 1980s era Twins players to giggle at. I'll make whatever comparisons I want, uneducated whiners be damned.

Romo and Peters look good enough to be place-holders. Quero and Acuña need PAs, I get it. But this is looking like you're not 1-4, then desert from 5-9.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
It's funny that you think that Frank Thomas was in the Hall of Fame, already, as he played his first full season in the bigs, which was how I took the comparison. I guess that's why the few of you get so angry when people make comparisons between players. You don't understand baseball talk.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Hoo-ray for vague-posting!! Am I not a Sox fan because Mune isn't Frank Thomas, or am I not a Sox fan because I consider Mune an important fixture at 1B, going forward, who they can and should build around? Of course, Munetaka Murekami isn't Frank Thomas. As I said in my post, if the guy could just pull on his spikes and hit 50 HRs, that's valuable. Add to that the Japanese marketing potential and strengthening the pipeline to the Pacific Rim, and not trading Murakami looks like a no-brainer. So to correct you, yes, it is a sensible question. Good talk, bro!

POSTGAME: Just a lil home sweep of the Angels
And then there's this:

POSTGAME: Just a lil home sweep of the Angels
Relative to the league, Lance was always around league average, within 10% in either direction. He only really started to hit when he got to the Mets.

POSTGAME: Just a lil home sweep of the Angels
Good ole' Brian Anderson.

POSTGAME: Just a lil home sweep of the Angels
I'm not going to start a new thread for this, but this is kind of interesting. Tristan Peters is worming his way into being a viable, temporary platoon option.

White Sox calling up Jarred Kelenic
I would prefer Kelenic starts over Hill or Peters. It would be ...a choice... to start Hays, Peters and Hill, and to bench Kelenic. If old Jarred can really hit, again, they need his bat in the lineup.

I didn't congratulate Hahn for letting Rodon walk without a QO, so it's nothing like it. Kimbrel for Pollock wasn't a bad deal. Pollock ended up sucking. Bad luck. And I don't understand your logic. If they kept Rodon, they still would have needed an OF. COUNTERPOINT: The talent on the roster did not decrease when removing Robert. Peters has put up more WAR, so far. Hicks, et. al. has created the value of being 2 games out of 1st place. Eye on the prize, Holden. Those "3rd best value for free agency dollars amortized over a decade" banners are just a joke. They don't really hang those.

"Shouldn't multiple mlb teams now be offering to poach him from the Sox with almost three years of unassailable track record?" You don't know they aren't.

Official Chris Getz Apology Thread
Here, I'll post this again, since you seem to glazed over it the first time: A 6-WAR CF sure would help this team. Too bad Robert didn't hold up his end, plummeted his own value, and Getz had to get what he could. Getz got rotten lemons, and he crafted a lemonade-cider invention that is going to redefine the industry. It's actually quite the accomplishment, turning JR into a sooth-sayer, and getting what he could for a failed Robert. Certainly worthy of the FIFA Peace Prize.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Take him where? A movie? I thought somebody here was arguing that baseball players are supposed to learn everything they need in the minors, and that's supplemented by the coaching staff. It's a complete failure if a player needs to be "mentored", or veterans are needed to "set the example". But hey, ESPN wrote a listicle content article, so that means MLB will have to adjust win totals tonight to match the significance of that declaration.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
- Official Chris Getz Apology Thread
Nobody has ever criticized you here for not loving the Sox unconditionally. Maybe you can tell us what that means, since you just made that up out of whole cloth. Why the hypotheticals? Sure, if they were 0-31, half of the opening day roster was out of baseball, we'd all be reacting in a way that you could do victory laps over. I guess reality is too hard for you to deal with, so you have to make up smug reactions to things that didn't happen.- Official Chris Getz Apology Thread
One has to go over the top to offset your under the belt grumblings.- Official Chris Getz Apology Thread
1-yes he is. They're 2 games out of 1st place. 2-then stop posting needlessly negative stuff that makes them sad 3-actually, they have. They had the largest attendance in years for Schultz's last home start 4-Boyer doesn't work for the city. 5- who cares? They're working on them. Tell me, what's the timeline? when Did your beloved twins have a full marketing play set up in Japan for whomever their last Japanese star was?- Official Chris Getz Apology Thread
Not only did Getz run the front office as Director of Development, but he's now responsible for ALL 30 TEAMS!!! You guys sure give him a lot of credit. LOL. You are predisposed to not agreeing with me. You mocked me, saying the Sox would never be in on any Japanese players. But they were. "Yeah, but, yeah, but" is a weird way of admitting you were wrong. Let me know when they start giving out World Series trophies for signing random Japanese players.- Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Here's another Passan listicle gem: (Good thing Getz didn't trade for this guy based on his prospect listicle ranking) Early MLB takeaways: Bad big-money teams, ABS lessons, more - ESPN Disappointment: Roman Anthony, Boston Red Sox Was the hype too much, too soon? Perhaps, but all the indicators pointed to a superstar hitter in the making. I still think he'll get there, but the back issue that caused him to miss three games last week is a concern. - Official Chris Getz Apology Thread
