  1. Does the Champaign flow between games if they win or do they wait until after game two?
  2. I have a feeling this team is going to rally around the fact that everyone is writing them off against Houston. I think they have just been waiting for Oct 7 to roll around. I think they will all individually start locking in mentally the last week of the season. It is up to each player to get themselves ready for the pressure of playoff baseball. They all say the playoffs is what they have been waiting for.
  3. I agree with all of this. I'm not in the best of health so it has been really nice to have the enjoyable diversion of watching a very good White Sox team. I can't wait for the playoffs to start. How many years of following the Sox have we had the pleasure of playoff baseball? It don't happen often. Enjoy it when it does.
  4. Will it simply be the start of the playoffs that gets this team playing with purpose and energy? Or does it have to start somehow in this last week and a half of the regular season? Can a team that has played months without any pressure or challenge from other teams just turn it on come Oct 7? What is it going to take to light a fire under these guys? Or will they all just be able to turn up their games starting Oct 7. How does TLR handle the last 8 or 9 games of the season after they clinch? Do you sit the regulars? Do you put your playoff lineup out there the last 4 or 5 games to try to get them in a groove together? Lot's of questions going in to this post season. I think a whole lot of people are writing them off against Houston because of how they have been playing this last half of the season. If Tony is as smart as some people seem to think then he will take these next 15 days to get this team mentally ready to go. I like the fact most everyone isn't giving them a chance to beat Houston. Hopefully the team will use that as added motivation. Whatever happens I can't wait to watch it.
  5. Exactly! Yea they are playing like crap right now. But they are about to win the Division and make the playoffs where anything can happen. I mean would you rather they sucked all year and weren't in the playoffs? My opinion is they have had this thing pretty much locked up for months now. They haven't had any kind of challenge to get revved up about. Now if they are going through the motions once the playoffs start then we can all start b****ing!
  6. Announced attendance 128 And that includes both teams.
  7. Both these teams look like they would rather be doing anything else but playing this game today.
  8. TA's mistake was letting his cheating become public. Most athletes wives know exactly what they signed up for. They tell their husbands I know your going to cheat just don't let it become public and embarrass me.
  9. When is Engel supposed to be back?
  10. Going to be very important how TLR manages this last two and a half weeks of the season in as far as who sits and who plays. Remember the Sox don't start the playoffs until 4 days after the season ends. If you sit guys the last few regular season games thats a lot of days off.
  11. This would be my biggest concern as well. The Sox haven't played a meaningful game in how long? Not to mention a game with any pressure to win. I don't know if they can adjust that quickly from meaningless games to playoff games. At least they have last years playoff experience to fall back on.
  12. Sox hitters better be ready to have a lot of Junk thrown at them tomorrow night.
  13. I have been a Sox fan for 49 years. Winning the Division and making the playoffs are a really big deal for this ball club. It doesn't happen that often. I have learned to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. This season has been a great journey so far. There is no way to predict what will happen in the playoffs. I just hope the team is as healthy as they can be and i will enjoy every minute of it.
  14. I want to see the Sox do whatever to scratch out another run here.
  15. This is exactly the type of game the Sox will see in the playoffs. These games against teams who are fighting for their playoff lives are great right now.
  16. I agree that getting this team as healthy as possible before Oct 7 is the most important thing. I'm not criticizing TLR or this team at all. They have had a great season especially considering all the health issues they have had to deal with. Winning the Division will be a helluva accomplishment. I just really want them at their best come playoff time.
  17. Let's be honest, this team has been coasting for weeks if not longer. They are 26-23 since the All Star break. They have had no challenge to winning the Division. Right now the team looks bored and lifeless and just waiting for the Playoffs to start. They have 23 games left and it looks like they will clinch the Division sometime in the last week of September. If that is the case they will have about a week left in the regular season when they clinch and then a 4 day break before the Playoffs begin. So how do you get this team in playoff mode when they have been playing with no challenge or pressure for months? Can you just keep resting guys these last 3 and a half weeks of the season and then expect them to be ready to play at their peak come Oct 7? Normally you rest your guys after you clinch but the Sox have been sitting guys for weeks now. Can they just flip the switch and go from playing out the season to playing in pressure packed Playoff games? It will be very interesting to see how TLR handle these last 23 games. I would almost like to see the Playoff lineup out there for the last 3 or 4 games just to get them playing together and in the right mindset for the Playoffs.
  18. This team has been going through the motions for weeks. Maybe they need this division race to tighten up so they will wake the **** up and start competing at a high level. If they think they can just turn it on come playoff time they are going to get swept in the first round.
  19. Great job by Cease tonight. This is a very good offense he shut down. Had a few chances to meltdown and he didn't. He just needs consistency and avoiding those meltdown innings. His stuff is good enough to be a No 2 starter on this team.
  20. Does Cease have the best pure stuff on this staff?
  21. I want to see Cease go 7 innings tonight without having that meltdown moment were so used to seeing.
  22. Was just going to post this. This team has been on cruise control for a long time. They look like a team just waiting for the regular season to be done. Let the Indians get this lead down to 5 or 6 in the next couple weeks and the Sox will have to start getting interested again.
