  1. Let's be honest, this team has been coasting for weeks if not longer. They are 26-23 since the All Star break. They have had no challenge to winning the Division. Right now the team looks bored and lifeless and just waiting for the Playoffs to start. They have 23 games left and it looks like they will clinch the Division sometime in the last week of September. If that is the case they will have about a week left in the regular season when they clinch and then a 4 day break before the Playoffs begin. So how do you get this team in playoff mode when they have been playing with no challenge or pressure for months? Can you just keep resting guys these last 3 and a half weeks of the season and then expect them to be ready to play at their peak come Oct 7? Normally you rest your guys after you clinch but the Sox have been sitting guys for weeks now. Can they just flip the switch and go from playing out the season to playing in pressure packed Playoff games? It will be very interesting to see how TLR handle these last 23 games. I would almost like to see the Playoff lineup out there for the last 3 or 4 games just to get them playing together and in the right mindset for the Playoffs.
  2. This team has been going through the motions for weeks. Maybe they need this division race to tighten up so they will wake the **** up and start competing at a high level. If they think they can just turn it on come playoff time they are going to get swept in the first round.
  3. Great job by Cease tonight. This is a very good offense he shut down. Had a few chances to meltdown and he didn't. He just needs consistency and avoiding those meltdown innings. His stuff is good enough to be a No 2 starter on this team.
  4. Does Cease have the best pure stuff on this staff?
  5. I want to see Cease go 7 innings tonight without having that meltdown moment were so used to seeing.
  6. Was just going to post this. This team has been on cruise control for a long time. They look like a team just waiting for the regular season to be done. Let the Indians get this lead down to 5 or 6 in the next couple weeks and the Sox will have to start getting interested again.
  7. Without question Lynn starts game one in the playoffs.
  8. Honestly I'm more encouraged to see how well Lynn is pitching tonight than I am discouraged in the Sox lack of hitting right now. Let's face it the team is going through the motions. It's the dog days and they have had such a big lead in the division for so long they just aren't really getting up for these games. All that matters is the team is healthy and playing well the last couple weeks of the regular season.
  9. The Sox traded Madrigal to try to win this year. As a fan you can not b***h about that. Kimbrel brought this on himself. If he pitches a clean 8th like he is expected to do none of this happens. And don't tell me he can't adjust to being the set up guy. Him getting through the 8th clean is just as important as the closer getting through the 9th. And getting back to Madrigal a lot of people are forgetting he had a lot of limitations. He was never going to hit for power and defensively he was average. Come playoff time a at the top of his game Kimbrel is way more valuable than Madrigal. Bottom line Kimbrel has to start doing what he was brought here and paid to do.
  10. Easy to just focus on the blown lead but this is a HUGE win to come back like they did. TA has an incredible will to win and the ability to come through at the biggest moments.
  11. Great job by Vaughn thats why he will be a great hitter as well.
  12. Lopez with a nice 1st inning. If he could give 5 innings tonight that would be great. Bassitt is going to be real tough.
  13. Kopech is starting to develop an attitude out there on the mound and it's very good to see.
  14. These are the exact type of games the Sox need to learn how to win. This is what the playoffs will look like against these guys.
  15. This is playoff baseball tonight. This is exactly the kind of games you will see come playoff time.
  16. That was a perfect night of baseball!
  17. Add Grandal and this will be the playoff game 1 lineup.
  18. When everyone is healthy and playing this team has more than enough offense. That is exactly why Hahn gave up Madrigal. This team needed better defense and one more elite reliever. They have a gold glove 2nd baseman now and an elite 8th inning guy to go with an elite closer. Playoff games come down to pitching and defense and timely hitting. The Sox now have all three.
  19. AV is only 23 yrs of age, he doesn't need days off, he needs AB's. This whole load management BS has gotten way out of hand.
  20. Great catch Vaughn. Damn he has made himself an above average OutFielder.
  21. Once Robert and Eloy get back in the groove and Grandal is back and Vaughn and TA and Pito holy crap!
  22. Lots of rain headed towards Chicago. Don't know if they will get 5 innings in or not.
