O's v. Sox, 6/23/22 GT
Amazing how Abreu just keeps sucking it up and playing thru pain. That guy is built so much different, and probably more to do with heart than physically. For a team full of grapes, it's so noticeable. Build that man a statue the moment he hangs them up.

Yeah, I was ready to blow up myself but if he literally just walked into the clubhouse at 3PM when guys are probably already doing preparation then I understand why he isn't starting. However, what kind of damn travel arrangements did they get for him if Mendick was pulled off in the early part of of a day game? He should have been on an evening flight here or one first thing in the AM.

Lenyn Sosa joins the White Sox; 2 years later, Banana Ball to Chicago
Reinsdorf put him on a Spirit flight and now the kid got here late to get the start. SMH

Mendick, Engel, and (maybe) Robert leave with injuries
Maybe some financial compensatory loop hole with insurance that Reindsorf discovered.

Let's just thank God the two involved were not AV and TA. Since that is due to happen also.

I don't think they're promoting what has now become the team's prized prospect from AA to the Big Leagues without the intent of giving him the chance to claim an everyday role on this team. I think if Mendick by some miracle avoids the 60 day, he'll simply comeback and either go to AAA for insurance or Harrison would have finally been DFAd.

Well, you're answering your own question there. Part of the same bad hand you were dealt was not only the injuries but the unexpected regression by key players on the this team. Lucas, Moncada, Grandal, Eloy were expected to provide about a combined 20+ WAR. They've combined for -.70 WAR so far.

You have to re-adjust your bar based on the hand you're dealt. The Sox have been destroyed by injuries and yet still hovering the .500 mark. Making the playoffs and having a puncher's chance would feel like a huge win to me at this point.

The improvement needs to come from within the personnel already in place. I think people who think if we don't make the playoffs this will all of a sudden light a fire to go out and spend insanely in free agency are sadly mistaken (yet again).

I really don't want Tony to fuck this up. Sosa needs to play everyday. If I see Harrison or Leury taking time from this kid my head will explode. My lineup for now TA SS Vaughn RF Robert CF Abreu 1B Pollack LF Burger DH Sosa 2B Catcher Harrison 3B Grandal and Yoan come back then we can start to feast 1-9.

LH Bat Trade Options
Well, if you don't get healthy then all is for nothing. No point in trading assets for patchwork reinforcements that will get you nowhere. The season to me is lost if Hendriks, Grandal, Moncada, and Eloy are not here back at some point contributing. And I listed them in order of importance too.

So who rides the pine then from Eloy, Vaughn, AJ ? And no, having a revolving DH is not something I want to put on this dumbass manager. The less toys that old fuck gets the better it is.

LH Bat Trade Options
a) let's get over .500 (we're close) b) let's get to 1st place c) Let's get healthy and see what we have going forward. Then I'll worry about LH bats.
