  1. Is it even worth going thru the Pederson exercise, he sucks. I think he was a negative WAR player last year.
  2. You're the 2nd person doing this BS comparison. Keuchel + Kimbrel + the rest of the pile of asses they have gathered via free agency doesn't even get to 50% of the $$$ commitment to Harper / Machado in free agency. I think that's where you guys continue to mis-read cheap ass Reinsdorf. He's fine paying $180 million in payroll for one season, He just refuses to pay that to one guy for 8 seasons.
  3. Because at the end, no matter how fucked up management is, talent prevails.
  4. Fine, you can go live under your dark cloud. The reality is, The White Sox are a Championship Contender. I know it's hard to grasp that, but go ahead and be miserable.
  5. And truthfully, I hate this front office. I hate their drafting, their development, Free Agency work, and short term philosophy. They have lucked their way into building a Championship Caliber Roster. And for that, I'm 100% grateful and positive.
  6. Tim Anderson SS Yoan Moncada 2B Luis Robert CF Jose Abreu 1B Yasmani Grandal C Eloy Jimenez LF Andrew Vaughn RF Gavin Sheets DH Josh Harrison 2B Are there even 5 teams better than this?
  7. Right, like the Dodgers and Yankees have won every single World Series the past 20 years.
  8. I mean, what was the plan we expected, Michael Fucking Conforto? Is this what's making everyone lose their fucking minds?
  9. Holly Shit, it's 3/16/2022 and this board is in full meltdown right now.
  10. Case and point. You think an owner who is already cheap in handing out long term contracts wouldn't be hesitant in making potentially another risky one here? 100% the Sox regret that Keuchel contract, and it's handcuffed them a bit here in doing other things to this roster.
  11. Can the Sox afford to hand out their first $100 million contract to a guy who could potentially put up a <1 WAR in a season?
  12. Just for the record, before the Conforto meltdown happens here when he signs elsewhere, who has us linked to him since Free Agency started? Of is this just wishful thinking by some you folks? The Machado stuff a couple years back, as silly as it was with all the Easter Egg Hunting people were doing, that one you could clearly see there was smoke there. This Conforto thing I truly don't see anywhere we are linked here.
  13. Yeah, we weren't going to pay that kind of money for a DH.
  14. Did we lose Schwarber too? I must have missed where we were rumored to be in on him.
  15. The guy played a hell of an OF last year for someone who never played out there. With some seasoning, I see no reason why he can't develop into a formidable everyday defensive OF.
  16. My two concerns with "trying to go all in" as some of you guys want: a) we make another stupid short sighted trade. I don't want to give up an Andrew Vaughn for a one year pitcher rental. b) we finally break the bank on a mega deal for say Conforto (who so many of you guys love for some odd reason) and he becomes our Jason Heyward. Here's what I do want the Sox to do the minute they decide to stay away from the remaining Free Agent Market...... Announce long term deals for Giolito and TA.
  17. Many of these teams didn't have a core already in place as we had. I think many of you guys are just to blind to see that a lot of the legwork to construct a championship caliber roster was already done by the Sox front office the last 5 years. Let's appreciate what we have here. Yes, I want to the Sox to break right through the Tax Line and go for it all. But I'm also not going to sit here pissing and shitting in my pants for not making big moves.
  18. These big ticket FA who held out before the lockout are sure sweating bullets at this point. I think 1 year deals are coming, like it was rumored for Kris Bryant.
  19. I bet the players now wish they had held out and killed the entire season.
  20. Picking up Kimbrel's option was a huge fuck up by Rick, there is no denying that. But to assume that his salary slot would automatically be turned over to one single guy +$4 million is being naïve when it comes to understanding White Sox financials.
