I'd love the idea of managing to nab him without giving up Kopech (I am likely Madrigal's #1 supporter here but in this case I'd drive him to the airport, provided we could nab Wong or LaStella in his place). With Lynn gone after this year, we have Kopech/Cease/Crochet all waiting in the wings to prove themselves (with Katz on board). If either, let alone multiple of those guys reach their potential we could be in REALLY good shape with Burnes also aboard. And if only the Sox had the balls to go all out... Bauer, Gio, Lynn(Kopech/Cease/Crochet in 2022), Keuchel, Burnes. With a rotation like that we could all have a commemorative Soxtalk circle jerk.

Since people just accuse me of always being negative... I am all for Corbin Burnes. Consider this a starter thread I'm actually perked up to see.

For the record, I am super on board with Q. I just fall into the camp that is disappointed the Sox apparently aren't in on Bauer to really bolster things. If Q is our only additional starter from this point this offseason then I worry about our chances in the playoffs. As far as playing for the division, I feel fairly comfortable about their chances, but as others have said, we shouldn't be aiming to be the Twins.

For the record, I would support a Pax signing.

"Vitriol with every post" is hyperbole. They essentially made 2 moves. One I was happy for, the other I was not. I had reasons, which I provided. If that is not good enough for you, I'm sorry. But I'm not going to inject fake optimism or refrain from JUSTIFIED criticisms (most that many others are making) to make you feel better. There ARE legitimate reasons to be mad with the FO and there's no reason people can't be fans of other teams as well. So yes, your post was knee-jerk. If you want to ignore me, I don't think you need to post just to make an announcement for attention. Just do it.

How many times have we said that before? Either way, that's irrelevant. The Sox still need a little more depth, another starter and we currently don't necessarily have a DH. We ARE aiming higher than just making the playoffs, right? If your knee-jerk reaction is to immediately put someone on ignore simply because of an opinion without even looking for context then you have an issue. There is little more absurd to me than having your fandom questioned because you criticize elements on the team. It's ridiculous.

I'm so used to disappointment as a fan of the Sox that it barely makes me upset anymore. It's expected. I just wish they wouldn't send signals like they are going to be different and insult our intelligence.
