QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) I still haven't forgiven Barker for kicking Adam Sandler's ass. I've never forgiven Barker for NOT beating Sandler up enough to prevent him from filming Spanglish.
  2. Most times, ketchup is ALL I have on my hot dog. I don't get these "hot dog rules". Eat what you like, who cares??
  3. I'm bored, and I was listening to 97.9 FM, The Loop, so here we are: I'm not going to try to define "classic rock", but I just went with what I'd hear on The Loop or The Drive, or any classic rock radio station. As you'll see, my tastes lean towards the 70's end of things. If you want to expand this to include your favorite "deeeeeeep cutssssss" or stuff from that time period that you like, hey, go right ahead! Here are my Top 10, in no particular order: Thin Lizzy - Boys Are Back In Town Aerosmith - Dream On Boston - More Than A Feeling Foreigner - Feels Like The First Time Foghat - Fool For The City Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster Electric Light Orchestra - Evil Woman Van Halen - You Really Got Me (also qualifies as a Kinks song, but I like the VH version better) Cheap Trick - Surrender Pat Travers - Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights) Your turn - don't be shy, there's nothing to be ashamed of!!
  4. QUOTE(samclemens @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) all-women radio talk network is being launched doomed for failure? hedge your bets...i vote it tanks too If they align themselves with The View or (especially) Oprah, they can't fail. Oprah's Estrogen Zombies will follow her anywhere. If they don't, they can't succeed.
  5. Twins, maybe? Or Detroit? I hope not, I like Gonzo and I'd hate to have to turn on him.
  6. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) anybody actually thinkin about goin to this? It's just a thought since it's been awhile since i've been to a live show Nahh, I've been done with house shows for a while now. Thinking back, the last live show I went to was probably the Raw when Chris Jericho debuted. Funny thing is, I don't feel like I've missed a damn thing. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 05:42 AM) New Jack was arrested at the old ECW Arena because a clerk and he got into it after he received a 7 Up instead of a Sprite. HE'S HARDCORE!!! HE'S HARDCORE!!! HE'S HARDCORE!!! Better wrestler, Hennig - Better heel, Rude.
  7. I got an email from TicketF*cker about the Raw presale for the show in October. The 23rd, I think? If anyone wants the code, PM me. Tickets go on sale to the unwashed masses on Saturday.
  8. I ain't gonna stop shufflin' til every goddamn song on my Pod makes the list!!! and now we shoo-flay!!! 9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) Quiet you. Oh, goody, another one......
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 08:24 AM) Eddie was just on Stern and said that him, Alex, and Wolfie are contemplating a VH reunion tour. I got most of Eddie's loony rants from the transcript of the Stern interview. Oh, yeah, Eddie also mentioned on Stern's show that Wolfie "spanks it" quite a bit. GEE, THANKS FOR MENTIONING THAT, DAD!!!!
  11. What's even more ironic is that he was arrested by "Perro, El Cazador de Liberalidad". ....sorry if that's the wrong term for "bounty", but that's the one the English-to-Spanish website gave me....
  12. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Ooops. heres the flyer. basically Irving Pk Road and Ravenswood. 1 blk north. THE NORTH SIDE????? TRAITOR!!!!!!
  13. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) LOL!!! Looking at your list there, I have to say I'm kind of proud. Well, you SHOULD be, that's about 40% courtesy of YOU.
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) Where is it going to be? Just stop by. That's all. Stop by for live music.
  15. I didn't read it on the train, and I'm not reading it now. But I'll add my opinion that ignoring a no-hitter is infantile, and has NO bearing on whether the no-hitter happens or not. It's a harmless superstition, but it's also a useless one. If someone has the power to negate a no-hitter through their words, what else could they affect, I wonder?? "Wow, there will NEVER be peace in the Middle East!" (The next day, Israel and Palestine share a BIG hug and go out for a cup of coffee) "Gee, that cancer can NEVER be cured!" (Now available, a grape-flavored pill to cure ALL cancer!!!)
  16. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) Let's be real though, how many here are fans of Gilby's bands PREVIOUS to his stint with GnR? Candy was one of the greatest Pop bands to ever exist, but nobody is familiar with them. Kill For Thrills was good, but more people probably remember Candy. And almost NO ONE remembers Gilby Clarke from Guns N Roses. Ask people on the street who was in Guns N Roses and you'll get a ton of Axls, a lot of Slashes, a few Duffs and NO Gilbys, Stevens, Matts or Izzys. And maybe....MAYBE....some people remember Jason from his stint in Metallica, but again, ask most people and you'll hear James and Lars and not much else. Anyway, I hope SuperNothing fades away very very soon. Losing their stolen name will help them fade away quicker, and that is a GOOD thing. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) Gilby Clarke and Jason Newstead are in the "band" too, so it isnt as if it is Tommy Lee and a bunch of nobodies. I wish CBS would have some sort of a battle of the bands other than this "I need a lead singer" garbage that is going on right now. Although I understand why INXS did it, their lead singer offed himself. But Supernova is just a corporate excuse to put out a crappy record with proven musicians that will be gobbled up by MTV viewers everywhere. I have to say, though, it would have been hilarious if it had been "Rock Star: Van Halen". Eddie is batsh!t crazy right now, and Alex is a mope, and the two of them probably would have had them search for a new bassist at the same time, since they seem to really hate Michael Anthony for whatever reason. Eddie's saying now that if Van Halen ever reappears, his kid Wolfgang will be the bassist. He also said his cancer came from a metal guitar pick, that he is cancer-free thanks to some procedure he had that's "illegal in the States so I can't talk about it", and that the porno movie he wrote some songs for is "Bravehart with *** shots". Like I said, batsh!t crazy. THAT would have been a program even the vomit-inducing Dave Navarro couldn't keep me from watching.
  17. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) How sad, he makes more with the Wolves than the Blackhawks even offered him I have to admit, that really surprised me. I don't know why, nothing cheapskate-related should ever surprise me about The Drunken Andy Griffith and his sons, but I thought a 25-year employee would maybe get better treatment. It's just a one-year deal, though - I assume Pat will sign one-year deals until an NHL broadcasting job close to Chicago becomes available. Maybe he can follow John Rooney to St. Louis.....
  18. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) ...and HE GAWN again... IMO a very classless move on the part of the Twins... putting a kids career on the line in a attempt to make the playoffs... Nothing is worth making an injury like this worse... Not on a young stud like this... Isn't this how Mark Prior got started? I read today in the Sun-Times where Thornton said that even though you might feel good rehabbing and doing all the things to get ready to come back, you never really know if you're back until you actually pitch for real again. I'm sure Liriano wanted to come back as much as the Twins wanted him back, and I highly doubt that the team doctors would clear him if he didn't appear ready to return. They recognize his potential, and I don't think they'd risk his future for a few September (and postseason) starts. ...but I guess we can't 100% assume that....I hope they didn't, anyway.... He had a good minor-league start on his way back, and I didn't read anything saying he was hurting afterwards. I think this is just a bad break for a good pitcher, and I wish him the best as he recovers. Thornton also said he gained 5 mph of velocity on his fastball post-surgery - can you imagine if Liriano gains 5 mph on HIS?
  19. Gary Matthews Jr. has hit for the cycle for the Rangers - he's 4 for 4 in the 6th inning. Rangers lead the Kitties 8-3 so far.
  20. QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) I will say this" I hope Frank goes 0 for his next 12. I'd have to agree with you on that, maybe even 0 for 13 or 14. Basically, I'd like to see the A's have three box scores like the Angels put up today.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) Does anyone else hold their breath hoping something really stupid doesn't come up? I like this ten and it represents pretty much what is on my iTunes. I worry about that every time. I just know that one of these times, Don't Download This Song by Weird Al is gonna make it on my shuffle. ....wait....did I just.....oh crap.....(leaves the room)
  22. Awesome. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003121382 Here are my suggestions for their band's name now: SuperNoOne SuperNothing Tommy Lee's Latest Failure That Band With Tommy Lee And A Couple Other Guys Who Had That Reality Show But Didn't Check To See If The Name They Wanted Was Ever Existed Before Or Appeared On The Soundtrack To The Movie "Clerks" Or Anything
  23. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) Here we go again... Chose to start out with a little MC5 - Lookin' At You just to set it off properly. El Diablo - Broken Teeth Brainwasher - Gaza Strippers Stiff Competition - Cheap Trick The Girl Who Knows Nothing At All - American Heartbreak Baggage - Bullet Lavolta Obscene - The Damned Jim Gordon Blues - The Dictators You Told A Fib - Gene Vincent And The Blue Caps Happy Boys Happy - The Small Faces Something's Wrong With My Radio - Stray Cats Anybody else notice how as soon as you are done doing your "shuffle list" it suddenly kicks into cool stuff? This is an O.K. list I guess, but these are lesser songs by all of these bands. Well, aside from "Stiff Competition" which is a cool azz song and the fact that "Radio" is the coolest of all the Cats tunes! I'm actually partial to "How Long You Wanna Live Anyway". And now......we SHUFFLE!!! The Bollweevils - Talkpeople RPG - Song Of Evil Skid Row - Get The F*ck Out Social Distortion - Through These Eyes The Riverboat Gamblers - Year Of The Rooster Damone - Frustrated Unnoticed Naked Raygun - Metastasis The Paybacks - Black Girl The Cartels - Nothing To Do The Wildhearts - Red Light Green Light
  24. That sucks. I don't care about the playoff implications, that kid is an excellent pitcher and I'd hate to see him go the Kerry Wood route.
  25. I just want the White Sox team I saw today to show up in Oakland. Doubles, singles, scoring without homers, dominant pitching. NICE game today, congrats to Freddy!!!
