There is no way anyone can spin this outside of Jerry literally being cheap. I am not buying anything else. He did it, keeping Eloy down for control 7yrs down the line, and he did it in the Machado offer. For the life of me, I am not understand why a 93/94yr old man is worried about the potential of the final 2 years of Machado's contract.

I don't think they got out negotiated, I think it boils down to Jerry being cheap. I mean, we say it with Eloy. He is literally concerned with paying guys 6-7years down the line with Eloy when he is going to be 90yrs old, and now 9-10yrs down the line with MAchado.

100%. There were some metrics on him last year, that suggested he was not as good as he was. That he was "getting lucky". I am not buying that long term. IMO, he kinda reminds me of Jose Contreras.
