Yeah, this is certainly how Bochy feels.

Why was Jack Nicklaus not told to shut up and swing a golf club yesterday? Because he's a white athlete who expressed an opinion that the bigots agreed with. Why are black athletes told to shut up and dribble? Because they're black. There are some things in life that are so obvious they can't really be refuted.

And North Koreans are taught that their dear leader shoots an 18 in a round of golf. The pledge of allegiance is propogandist BS. There's no difference between a human born in America and born in Colombia; the person born in America isn't superior because of some piece of fabric. They don't have a "right" to the flag, or a right to tell people how to express their pain and suffering. To, at this point, be against kneeling is flat out racist. You can deny it all you want, but it's simply not true. The troops and military DO NOT own the flag; they have explained repeatedly that they are not disrespecting the military. Kaep even asked a decorated military official the best and least offensive way to protest. I said it before but willful ignorance does not excuse bigotry. Period, end of story. Freedom is for all. People hated how Malcolm X protested; they hated how MLK protested. They ask for peaceful protests and when they are given that, they ask for protests that white people approve of. It's complete nonsense. It's an excuse to degrade a movement.

Why is Stroman not a mature adult? I'm dying to know.
-
Yeah, because obviously they thrived thanks to Tony's "tough love." They didn't thrive due to their talents and skills or anything like that.
-
Yeah, I saw a couple of the likes beyond the first one when I continued scrolling; the post appears fake but who knows.
-
Want to clarify, the retire b**** comment seems fake. This is also in Stromans likes:
-
That is the one real like he did have.
-
All of the Stroman stuff has been photoshopped I believe.
-
This sums up my thoughts; I AGREE! Hopefully that will appease all those who are looking for mass agreement 24/7.
-
Great insight and thoughts from you, as always. Not sure what this place would do without it.

I'm wrong all the time; also have no problem admitting it. Renteria was a train wreck in the playoffs and those who wanted him fired were right all along. See how easy that is? I find message boards fascinating; I joke around, have a good time, throw some jabs in good fun and people like you take it all so personally. I don't name call or get personal and I try to go over the top to show appreciation for thoughts when I'm going to disagree. If you that all bothers you, I'm sorry to hear that. You're free to block my posts, in case you were wondering. I come to places like this to read people who disagree with me to gain more knowledge/insight and figure out if I'm missing something. I certainly don't come here reading dissenting views thinking I know everything. People are more likely to post about something they don't agree with. The board would be pretty boring if all the posts were merely responses that said "i agree." Have a good one, CHAMP!
-
Or, I try to lighten the mood? I also praised his work and told him I appreciated his thoughts repeatedly. All he's done is demean my takes as being misinformed (despite him admitting he has no true big league source); all I've done is prop up his opinions and respond with my opinions and comments. If he doesn't want people to participate or respond to his thoughts, he should try posting on non-public forums.
-
You've got some sensitivity issues, bud. I learned about 20 years ago that if I post my opinions on the internet, some people may not agree and there's no sense in getting upset at those people. Have a good one, champ.

His entire career summed up in 12 words.

Just fans overreacting trying to pretend like they have some power in the process.

To be fair, I've felt this way about Tony when he was winning titles. I have thought LaRussa was the most overrated man in baseball for 3 decades. Things like batting the pitcher 8th turned out to be huge nothingburgers - just ways for Tony to say he was the smartest guy in the room when in fact it meant nothing. He has called out star players because he's always felt he was the star. He's always felt that people need that type of accountability when in reality it's just nonsense. Tony has that "old school, I'm your second daddy" mentality as a coach and I can't stand that garbage and I'm glad it's leaving sports in general.
-
Hey man, absolutely no need for you to sit out a damn thing. Your thoughts are appreciated and your closeness to the organization gives you a more educated opinion than I and many others. Even if I disagree, I appreciate reading your takes and have gone out of my way to do so. Keep on stating what you feel; it's appreciated.

My guy, you were shouting from the rooftops that Hahns balls were cut off and he should resign and this is a travesty... now you're up this morning saying it's all overblown and Tony is getting a bad rap. I think you're looking too far into this and as I have often done you want to give Hahn the benefit of the doubt on stuff like this. It's easy to blame Jerry - it's always easiest to blame the big boss - but the whole "Jerry said ff Hahn" angle just doesn't make sense given his loyalty to guys like Hahn and Williams. Also, the game was much different when Ricky played; the average player was much different. Ricky was great but if we're being honest, Ricky and Tony hated each other because they both loved themselves so damn much. Those two couldn't fit thru the same doorway at the same time their heads were so big.
-
A requirement of a manager is absolutely to not tell a player from an oppressed group how he should express himself and/or protest. Glad we could clear that up.
-
if Jerry said I'm all in, go get your guys this off season rick - break the bank, but I want a guy I trust overseeing the manager spot. Would people be angry that rick jumped all in?
-
I'm going to say this one time as to not derail. People who have a problem with how oppressed people protest do NOT actually have a problem with the method of protest; they very obviously have a problem with the cause and message and hide behind a distaste for the method. No one who understands someone's pain and struggle, or wants to understand, says i care but only if you explain in a convenient and comfortable way for me. No one who empathizes refuses to actually understand the why.
-
ok and I'm saying if you did not hear this from Rick Hahn it's meaningless. If you did then I tip my cap to you. Fact is though, you'd never reveal your source and no sox media member will blow this story up so what we have is speculation and me not having a clue as to what the real story is because I have as many sources in the front office as ChiSox1917 has good ideas in his head.
-
If the source is not rick hahn, speaking from some position of absolutes is laughable. If the source is rick hahn then jimmy can quietly sit on his throne and laugh at my ignorance gleefully. I'll guess hahn is here this year and next and beyond and that tlr and hahn are buddies and all is well though.
-
Cool. High five to you. Always hilarious when people get defensive like this. Jimmy, you been telling people for weeks it would be hinch. Now its not, but we should listen to the insider info still and buy the new spin? Is the info good or is it not? You have every reason in the world to say hahn wanted hinch and was overruled. You reported it would be hinch. Its not. Churn churn.
