9 million. More than I thought the guy would get. What a spiraling disaster last year was for him. -
I'd guess a one year deal as well. 1 year 17 million.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.

What? This was for an interview. It wasnt sarcasm. The entire article makes the point pretty well. https://theathletic.com/1308014/2019/10/24/anthony-rendon-vignettes-for-thursday/ -
Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...

Red Sox getting under the tax can save them upwards of 80+ million dollars over the next few years. -

No, sitting in the office watching my twitter feed update. Hasn't been a very productive week, but shit happens. Everyone is leaving for the Holiday soon anyway so FFFF it. -
Nats had a lot of deferred money in the offer and Rendon has no interest in deferred money is the report. If it was like 50 million, the present value dips below 195 million.
-
Apparently, all teams that have been involved with Rendon have been told prior to becoming involved that 7/210 has to be the floor of your offer.

Not sure how I buy that, but man does Boras not want the thought to be that Cole prefers California. I'd view this as more good news implicating someone like the White Sox but this is obviously directed at the Yankees. -

Boras quote today from his press conference. Boras says clubs have been consistent so far in offering Rendon a 7-year deal. Also says Rendon and Trout are the only players with "6 WAR appraisals" the last 3 years. "So he is literally atop the game, one of the game's greatest." -

That's 14% more than the highest AAV ever signed in baseball. -

Yes, but it appears most of his offers are for 7 years so honestly who knows. -

Yeah, I think a 5/200 would maybe get it done for Rendon. That's a hell of a commitment though. Obviously wouldn't be a bad deal though. -

But the White Sox don't negotiate or talk with Boras! -

I just don't like Yoan at 2nd. Guy went from the 17th best defensive 2nd baseman to the 5th best defensive 3rd baseman. Obviously there's a lot of noise in those statistics, but the eye test seemed to confirm he was much better and more comfortable there. -

Boras' exact quote on the White Sox and their interest: "'They've been on the phone with us a good deal'" -

Which is exactly why if the Sox were the mystery team for either, we'd have no idea. They clearly don't want to be tied to the big 3 this off-season, and Boras may be obliging given that the Sox aren't the team he needs to drive up bidding this year; he has the Yankees and Angels to do that publicly for him. -

I think this is true, but if there really are 2 mystery teams (doubtful) the Sox really make some of the most sense. -

I get the speculation, and I still really found that piece from Ken Rosenthal about the Sox being willing to spend at that level but not wanting to get in negotiations to fail at that level, but it seems so unlikely. I will say there are two legit smoke pieces between Rosenthal and Boras implication regarding his discussions with the Sox. It would be batshit crazy if the Sox closed this out. I'm raising my percentage from 0% chance to a .0000000001% chance. Speaking as a White Sox fan who clearly loves abuse and to be disappointed, maybe the Sox told Boras if their interest leaks they're out. -

He said that Castellanos "loves" Sausalito... which is weird to hear from a guy from Florida who has played mostly east. I like SD a lot too, but that doesn't mean I'm going to move there tomorrow. -

A follow up: Henry Schulman @hankschulman · 51s A lot has been made about a Castellanos comment on not liking Comerica because it's so big. In the end, I believe money, chance to win, geography, etc.. will be his biggest factors. #SFGiants How does "chance to win" and Giants fit in the same sentence? Giants are in one of the worst positions in baseball at the moment. -

Henry Schulman @hankschulman · 38s I couldn't get close enough to Scott Boras for his scrum. (I did see the brand new Boras Corp. logo jacket and backdrop he brought. Cool.) But am hearing the #SFGiants interest in one of his clients, Nick Castellanos is genuine. And a HUGE nugget: Castellanos loves Sausalito. You really got to wonder what the Giants are thinking. Huge outfield that is very tough to play, Castellanos power already didn't play up in Comerica and they want to bring him to a tougher hitting platform, and the team is no where near being able to compete within their division. Some baseball teams do things that just baffle my mind.
