Ian Happ doesn't hit the ball 9000 feet should he actually make contact.
  2. They could. They won't.
  3. I'm more nervous about him than excited tbh. He HAS to be good
  4. Keith is one of those guys I want to hate for acting like he’s always the smartest guy in the room, but he probably is more often than not.
  5. That wouldn’t really be much of a rush is my point. 2 years should be plenty of time for a guy who was drafted out of college with the hit tool/glove he has. Unless by next year you mean the year that starts in a week
  6. Just don’t get what’s particularly white Soxy about that
  7. What’s wrong with pulling up “the most polished college bat” 2 years after drafting him?
  8. I want to tweak his patience so he's not in 1-2 counts 70 percent of the time.
  9. That’s absolutely what it is
  10. Nothing to see here, move along
  11. On what planet? The only advantage this team would have are 1 and 2 starters.

Giolito only having one option means he will pitch until they are contending and don’t have room for him. Right now they have plenty of room to let him toil.
  13. Well there was a reason for that, and it didn’t have anything to do with baseball
  14. That’d be great! But there’s significantly more risk with him then anyone they’ve done this with as he’s already had elbow surgery. I don’t see him taking a deal I would be willing to give him
  15. There’s too much risk in Cease for my blood. Unless they can buy low on Moncada, I don’t think there’s anyone worth it right now.
  16. It 100% is nonsense. He was the 30th ranked international prospect.
  17. Like I said before, it took them from an F to a D-
  18. But 2019 was always the 'If everything breaks right' year. Everything didn't break right and now it's a 'things better start breaking right' year. I really disagree that 2019 was totally unrealistic, and will view no contention in 2020 as something of a failure.
  19. It wasn't unrealistic, just best case scenario. If Michael Kopech didn't get hurt, Moncada was a 1-2 wins better, and Giolito was a major leaguer last year the outlook is a lot different even without Machado. Instead we basically got absolute worst case scenario.
  20. There's definitely still a path to contention, and I think a lot of people fail to see it through the clouds. It just got so, so much harder.
  21. Well those ones are basically employed by the team.
  22. I also find it unlikely that the '21-'22 offseason doesn't swing this deal this deal more in the Sox favor.
  23. It's still a very good move that also makes the next couple weeks/months much much less horrible?
  24. I assume you didn't account for inflation both in the economy at large and in arbitration?
  25. Under. 30 is like... a lot
