They were also 4th in baseball in Home Runs. If they were closer to the bottom of the league they aren't sniffing the playoffs. They also won 3 of 4 world series games with a ton of Home Runs and XBH. That team won in spite of its philosophy.

These ideas are basically mutually exclusive. And before you tell me they won a world series playing small ball... they didn't. But yes White Sox hitters strike out too much and don't walk enough and it's a problem.

And still managed to be an okay contributor. A huge chunk of his strikeouts can be wiped out by very slight adjustments and less bad strike zone luck.

That's far too black and white at this point. 6 months from now the outlook could easily flip. Dooooon't feel confident it will though.

If I had to bet money on top 15 or so prospects I don't think will ever play a game for the White Sox for one reason or another, it would go as follows: 1. Jake Burger 2. Gavin Sheets 3. Blake Rutherford Wouldn't bet on a pitcher because who knows he gets a spot start, or a week in the pen.

I'll say this again, it's not even missing them that hurts, it's the way in which they missed that is so aggravating/concerning.

Moncada, Anderson, Lopez and Rodon are all useful everyday pieces as is. Yolmer could be useful if deployed correctly. Obviously a lot of room for improvement for Yoan, and I think there will be plenty. But pieces are just pieces, after letting Machado go, If you don't get a star or two out of Eloy/Moncada/Robert this whole thing is DOA.

Moncada would have to improve quite a bit at the plate to be more valuable at 3rd, unless he is significantly better at 3rd than 2nd which I find hard to believe
