  1. Yeah this is generally how I feel, they need to make moves this off season for controllable players, although I would take Joc. The quality of FA players next year is pretty shit when you look at anything realistic. Get your team in order this off season and address some holes next year which should be minor if they can do this right.
  2. That's not true though. Wheeler had TJ as everyone does now and had a setback. He was healthy before that and after. Ryu is always hurt with a million different injuries. And age.
  3. I'm going to ignore everything you said. Have they had talks with the Rockies that you know of? They seem like a team that assets could be extracted from.
  4. I mean they probably don't want to give 80 million dollars to a guy who might pitch 150 innings once or twice in a 4 year deal. I am fine with that.
  5. I don't want anything to do with Frazier. His bat is not good enough for his God awful defense. He looks like a tee ball player in RF some times.
  6. Marte/Musgrove isn't a salary dump, we'd have to actually give back good prospects for that. Chris Archer is a non-starter for me. Also the Mets aren't trading Noah.
  7. I mean it's probably true that they won't contend this year, but the FA market outside of Joc, Betts, and Springer is pretty barren 2020. They aren't going to give Mookie 300 million and I'd bet Springer resigns with the Astros. Joc Pederson and 49 year old Michael Brantley really who you want to gamble on over this FA class? Meh
  8. I think either is fine for around what Grandal got. I thought Castellanos would get around 16 per before FA started. Clearly the market is different this year
  9. I want Castellanos because I think his bat plays better and he ages better. His defense is bad but I'm not overly concerned about that if he's hitting 50 doubles and 30 HR a year.
  10. After they sign a RF none of those guys remaining in the minors have any path to the MLB as a starter. The same could be said about the pitchers in the minors unless Lopez doesn't bounce back. They have some pieces to trade. What kind of specifics do you want? Nobody knows what pitchers are actually available from other teams outside of a couple. I want German Marquez from the Rockies. I have no idea if he's available or what they would even take in return. Kind of hard to be specific when we aren't Rick Hahn.
  11. I mean I'm pretty sure most players still pride themselves on performance? He clearly does not enjoy playing in stupidly big parks. I also don't see how or why the Giants would even want him in their current state and his bad defense.
  12. There is no fucking way he goes there. He publically b****ed about Comerica and how stupid the field was. Also the RF at Oracle is like the hardest to play in the league.
  13. They were going to give Zack Wheeler 125 million dollars, I would say that qualifies even though he turned it down, which never happens. I've already said I want them to make a trade, hopefully for a #2 or #3 with upside. The reason for that is exactly what you are ranting about. The remaining FA pitchers are not worth the money they are asking for in my opinion. The top 3 pitchers left not named Cole are either more hurt than not, old and on a decline, or translate very poorly to the AL and at GRF. If the asking prices are true they are way over what I would feel comfortable paying.
  14. They were rebuilding, that's the point of rebuilding, your team sucks. They clearly are trying to make the team better by the moves they are making. You don't give Madison Bumgarner 100 million dollars just for the Lols. He has like 1900 innings pitched including the playoffs and was getting destroyed by HRs in an airport of a home field. That kind of move very arguably makes the team worse overall.
  15. If Cole is actually going to get 9/330 I would want nothing to do with that unless there was a team option in year 4 or 5 which wouldn't happen. I would have been fine with around 7/280 if that would seal it. 9 years is a fucking lifetime.
  16. I mean, some of the alleged asking prices for the remaining players are absurd. I would be pissed if the Sox gave Bum 100 million or Ryu 80 million. They aren't worth that. They are better off trying to work a deal.
  17. There hasn't been any. But you wouldn't get him for Rutherford.
  18. Let's discuss. He has been in MLB since 2013 and has pitched over 150 innings 3x and over 180 innings 2x.
  19. There are a ton of FA 2B. You don't even need to be a 2B to play 2B anymore due to shifting, see Moustakas. If they were trading Vaughn or Madrigal the return is probably a 4 or 5 WAR player.
  20. They aren't going to trade Cease. Madrigal and Vaughn I could see though.
  21. Cubs aren't going to sign Castellanos. Before the year I figured he'd get around 16 a year for 3-4 years. I wouldn't be suprised now if he's wanting more than what Grandal got.
