I don't pretend to be an expert on prospects but where we are right now as an organization this seems to be a good move. I like Garrett and wish him the best. I always worried about him getting hurt when he was pitching. I don't know where this organization is headed with the clown as the owner but I really need this team to be good in spite of him (If that's even possible). It is miserable when your 2 favorite sports teams are the WHITE SOX and the BEARS

He will hit .175 for us and play like trash. That's what happens when mediocre guys sign with the Sox, they become worse.

I get it. Luis Robert makes me mad to watch the white sox. He epitomizes what they were suppose to be and what they have become.

What was eye opening to me is the last part of what you said, on the worst team in history there was not one person who surprised and could be considered somebody you move forward with as a core piece.

I have more empathy and sympathy for a man/woman working 40+ hours trying to make a good living then the individual in your scenario. I not naive and understand that sports athletes go through lots of mental and emotional struggles, however their struggles come with certain opportunities that the guy/gal working 40+ hours a week aren't afforded.

100% agree on the bolded I disagree on other aspects. I chimed in after @Look at Ray Ray Run posted the following.......I 100%agree with what Ray said. A guy playing professional sports who has accomplished nothing going through the motions. "I was in a position to where I hate to say I was going through the motions. You know you’re not playing for anything other than your own career, and when you don’t want to play a selfish game because it’s not a selfish game, it makes it really hard." The head on Kopech's shoulders is not one I'd want to trade places with. For a professional athlete who has proven nothing to go through the motions is fascinating, and also a huge red flag. If I was a GM, I'd never sign a guy who admits such a thing to any contract.

I gave you my opinion. I'm not a psychologist nor have the time to devote to researching human behavior. The following is the statement that I stated does not work as a comparison between your everyday people and dudes/gals playing professional sports if you're at a job or with a company that has zero direction, poor leadership, poor training and poor infrastructure...when you roll up to your cube each day, are you going "all-in" for that company each day, giving it max effort all 40 hours a week? For most...probably not? To me, it is a privilege to play sports, enjoy the fame, and earn millions of dollars. In my opinion you cannot compare effort of a individual as described in the highlighted above to what Kopech just said about his time with the white sox. Those comparisons are apples to cauliflower.

This comparison does not work. We are not playing a kid's sport being paid millions of dollars and are celebrities. Please stop using the everyday folks to dudes/gals that play professional sports and make tons of money and have all the fame. Bad comparison.

Katz is well respected and is a good pitching coach. With him and Bannister teaming up, that truly is not one of the concerns with this organization in my eyes. There are concerns everywhere else from your owner to GM to player development to lack of talent..........I can keep going.

Luis Robert was a shell of a baseball player when he came back from injury. The question is was he hurt? Or He just didn't give a s%*#? In the end, I....one of his biggest fans, stopped giving a s%*#. He is not a winning baseball player. I don't give a crap about WAR....there are certain situations where WAR doesn't make sense. Apply Luis Robert here....

I hate this team and organization but the Dodgers didn't fix Kopech. Ethan Katz had it figured out, just needed Kopech to buy in like he did with Dodgers.

This is a good move for multiple reasons. However, this move is only as good if he is given the assets to work with. He could be the best manager in the world but if you give him the roster from last year with the ineptitude of guys like Luis Robert then it really doesn't matter. I guess this is a step in the right direction BUT I will wait to see what the product on the field looks like.
