  1. Here’s the trick, in its glossiest, most Powerpoint-ready form: Take a ball to start your at-bats.
  2. LOVED him in HS. One of the most dominating pitchers I've ever seen. Hitters had no chance against him.
  3. No he can't. He hit home runs off the corpses of Zack Greinke and Rich Hill. Everyone else blew his 4A ass up.
  4. They're definitely on him but it's going to be very difficult for them to sign him. If he's even available at 1-26 (which is doubtful) they can only offer him around $3M. At that number and Boras as his agent he would most likely go to Vandy where he'll dominate for two years and be a draft eligible sophomore then sign for $5M+.
  5. You and I should have nothing but love for Frank Menechino.
  6. Kopech is as strong and healthy as he'll ever be. As long as he doesn't say he's feeling tired keep doing what they're doing.
  7. A side concern only to those who are desperate to find something to be concerned about.
  8. yOu CaN't WiN a WoRlD SeRiEs WiTh jUaN UrIbE jR aS yOuR sTaRtInG sHoRtStOp!
  9. A pitcher may hit Sheets bat in a low leverage situation but when they need an out he's very easy to get out.
  10. Two local products go yard in the same week at Wrigley Field. That's a real bad look for the Cubs area guy. ?
  11. The hitters are well aware they're underperforming. They don't need someone fired to wake them up or to light a fire under them. They just need to put together more quality at bats and that's 100% on them. Now back to your regularly scheduled meatball thread.
  12. I was told Holliday is the best player in the country and he's the only one of the HS bunch who can play SS. It's going to see what the O's do but I still think they're gonna underslot a college hitter.
  13. A big consistent bat in the middle of the lineup sure would be nice.
  14. Sheets and Burger are both negative WAR players. Why would a team trade for them when they can just use their own bad players.
  15. You run on Benintendi every chance you get. He made a throw earlier this year that didn't even make it to the catcher. He has a 20 arm but somehow uncorked a good throw there. It was a good send.
  16. Schultz wasn't very good tonight in front of all the heat. He didn't have the life on his fastball or the snap on his slider and he was fighting his command. He may only have one more game left this spring then he'll probably throw private bullpens until the draft.
